Whats weird? Does it feel tight? Is it smooth throughout the entire rotation of the diff? How many runs on it? If it feels on the tight side, it should loosen up some after several runs. Its taken quite a few runs for mine to loosen up some and it may still be a touch tight but its smooth.

Also, did you use the stock balls and thrusts or did you replace them with ceramics? I'm still on stock balls and thrusts with 30+ runs and my diff is still smooth.

i was waiting to brake a rear tower or have the ball cups pop off but the car is tough WOW i had a couple of hits and spills that i thought took the front off the car and it was good
all an all not a bad first time out

Did you break the diff in? Have you run it yet?

What behavior did you see that makes you think you had too much pack?

There is room inside the front bulkhead/pivot for up to 3/4 oz.

I did put about 1/2 behind the servo because I a
am running a low profile servo and that did help a little
should I move it to under the bulkhead?
I am going to play with springs and oil and see what
happens

I'm running 4 hole 1.3's in front with green springs and 25 oil. 4 hole 1.2's in the rear with 22.5 oil and black spring. Weather is COLD. Large track, medium grip, indoor clay. Car is working good, but gonna try even lighter oil, 22.5 front, 20 rear.

no movement in the rear donkey kicking through the washboard and very unstable on landings, these pistons act much different than normal pistons in that the pack comes from the pistons coming together more so than the hole sizes so you can run more holes and still achieve the same pack as less holes, if that makes any sense. I now have 6hole with 22.5 in the rear and it is MUCH better, glides across the washboards, no slap and jumps like a bird!

BTW i have a dedicated thread for RCshox now, my shock towers and battery straps will available soon!

So who is interested in blank shock pistons? These were cut on my laser CNC machine and turned out pretty good. They are Delrin so they shouldnt develop any mechanical slop.

Original on the right, new delrin blanks on the left and on the shaft. Note they also have the recess for the washer on the shaft.

Do they have a recess for the washer on the bottom? Or did you figure to just leave it out?

You can see the recess on the one on the left. Thats looking at the bottom of the piston. For a 1200$ camera it didnt turn out as well as i would have thought, lol.
