this has been a timely gearing discussion..... without doing the math, I was certain my old pinions from my xxx-4 which are 12 to 16 would be fine with the 17.5t motor I ordered hahahaha. I have never raced stock.

definitely spared me some frustration and embarrassment before her maiden voyage. thanks again guys.

would any of you feel like sharing some intellectual property and let me know a decent setup point for mm3 carpet? .....everything I have come across is for mm4. which I changed to mm3 based on the recommendations here.

and I honestly do not know what to expect because i've never run a mid motor car before. just some belt drive and rear motor losi's.

right now its semi-setup based on some sheets from petitrc.com

The Exotek chassis came in today. It looks like it was run for about a lap on a blue groove track. It's practically mint condition.

What a nice piece of work from Exotek. It's beautiful. It greatly simplifies things. I've already switched everything over to it. I need to get a body and get some electronics installed but this is how the car should have come.

Unfortunately it'll be a while until I get any performance feedback. I'm concentrating on the upcoming dirt oval season right now. I was going to convert my 210 to a dirt oval car but saw the chassis and couldn't pass up the price. I just picked up a B4.1 to convert to a street stock class car instead and of course have my own line of dedicated dirt oval cars.

I hear the b5m body fits well. I know the website says TLR.

Micholix,
I think the 210f would fit fine in the front but the whole rear part would have to be open since the F is longer. I don't have the exotek to compare to, just comparing my 210's.

I'd like to show some further process on my convertion to fit the original gear box into the F chassis.
The motor plate i use here, is from my original x-factory x-6, it moves the spur gear nicely down by about 10 mm.
I realy need to get into 3D design, or find someone, to design me a gear box, as the original 210 gear box i use right now does fit nice, but the section from the 4th gear is in the way to fit the rear shock tower.
I dont want to cut off that section, because i have an open gear box than, or to cut the shock tower itselfe..

Edit: attached a better pic!

Sorry for the crap pic!
Looking good Micholix. If they were smart they would make a ball diff for the 210f and 210v4 that used that chassis and a gearbox like the one your desiging

Exotek 12mm rear hexes are out.
I know B4.2 ones will work.

Any other rear 12mm hexes that will work??

Thanks

As a matter of fact, I threw some b5 strc on the dex210 and fit well, It does make it wider, but it's club racing for me so shouldn't be a problem. Haven't tried them on the track yet. But nice that I can share tires with my b5.

Thanks Wally!

Yes, with an gear box like that, you would be able to use the 210 gear diff and ball diff than, it would be realy great, TD came out with an 210v4 like this, and may with an LD gear box as well?

it should be easy for them, as you only need some molds for the gear box(s) and you could use the rest of the existing car?

I haven't done anything with the car since installing the chassis and won't for a while yet. One thing I have noticed is that the car is much more rigid. The chassis doesn't flex as much as the stock chassis. This is a good thing. I have never believed, and never will believe, that chassis flex gives traction. If you use flex to tune your car, you have a fundamental lack of understanding of how springs, and dampening work. Sadly, I'd say that most pros are clueless here as well. I'm hopeful that the rigidity transforms the car away from being an untunable wet noodle.
