Once again, I used a 10.5 motor on our dirt track.
Glad to hear the GT2.0Pro is reliable. I may sell the 5.5 for now til I can afford a high power esc to run that type of motor. Thanks!
For drag racing, I would go with a nitro car with two speeds. Nothing sounds more badass in RC than the nitro engine whining and then you hear it shift gears.

Yeah, me, too. I've only had mine for a month now. I ruined the ball diff yesterday morning so I spent last night rebuilding it. I won't get a chance to try it out until tomorrow night. I hope it's not completely ruined.

I have just as much fun wrenching on the car as I do driving it!

When I was racing real cars a few years back, I dreaded working on the race car, but the RC car is kinda fun and therapeutic, whereas the race car was stressful and frustrating.

Had a good weekend racing my 210V3 Durango at my local shop. Was TQ after the first round and 3rd after the 2nd round. Had one mistake that the marshall didn't pick up and lost 4 seconds. 3 of us all ran 14 laps in 5 min 14 sec. Hundreths apart for use top 3. I the main worked up to take the lead for abut 2 1/2 minutes and made a mistake and it cost me 3 spots and finished u 4th for the day. Car was dialed and only person to blame was the driver. Here is what the car looks like now after my new lid was painted by my buddy at CR Graphics.

Sweet paint. What axles are you running up front? Does the v3 come with a hex for the fronts?

It does come with front Hexes that are plastic so I have the Exotek ones in mine. A Cheaper route is using the B5M axle. I think that is what Cain did who is on this thread. Those Titanium ones are sweet looking, very strong and light.

You could look into a GT2.0 Pro ESC. that may handle what you are wanting to do better than the LPF.

The GT2.0 Pro was strong enough when I used it with a Tekno 410 on 2S with a Tekin 4600kv 540 4 pole and a hobbywing 3656SD 4000KV motor which is like a 545 sized motor.

then, if you want to take more load off of the ESC, use an external BEC, also vent your body, etc. I would also look into running a very high power capacitor setup too.

For the axles after reading up on the thread etc, I have the B5 axles on the way. I found a guy selling the axles for like a buck a set + higher shipping, so I ended up ordering 2 sets, so with shipping was about the price of one set from say tower hobbies. Just need for them to come in.

Question for you guys who converted over to say losi ball studs, how much of a height difference do you factor in on your spreadsheets versus the stock ball studs?

Not bad my friend. Will you have full steering? How about bump steer? Can't wait to see it all together.

The GT 2.1 ex can run down to a 3.5 in on road use.

I agree, I should have gone with the GT2.0Pro. I'll vent the body for sure.
Can you recommend an external BEC and high power capacitor with part numbers, I have a Futaba 3PRKA and the receiver that came with it if that matters at all. The SP GT2.0 LPF came with some kind of capacitor, you might be able to see it in the photo.
Thanks!

assuming you go the 2 capacitor setup right?

To be honest the 4 bank one worked well enough that came with the gt2.0 Pro ESC. I also have a big 1/8 cap I used and a viper higher power cap too.

As for an external BEC, castle is pretty common. You could also do the hobbywing one too. Shoot me a pm, I may have some things that I am not going to use along those lines that you may like.

So what kind of axle carriers are you getting to fit those in? Ones from the DESC? And this is for front only right?
