Yes the system will fit in your Rustler and yes it would be a great investment for the truck. I run the sidewinder and the mamba motors in all three of my off road vehicles and they are a perfect power source. I highly recommend the system!!!

I run the Mamba Max Pro 5700kv in my trucks and the Sidewinder 4600kv in my son's Slash. For $120 you cant beat the Sidewinder Combo!!!!!

+1 I have a sidewinder/4600 in my sc10 and it's great. It keeps up with the much more expensive systems out there. Anything more would be hard to handle. The 4600 is already a handful in my sc10 with a good thunder power 40c lipo. It's amazing the difference that the battery makes. My 4600 is much faster than some of the 5700's at my track. Only difference is the battery we are using. Pick yourself up a castle link, and you have a huge amount of tunability. That's what IMO makes castle esc's the best n the business even the sidewinder. It's the best bang for the buck brushless system out there.

I put a Sidewinder/5700 in my Slash and its a little too much in the dirt, it has too much power and too little traction. 4600 would be a better choice. Sidewinder is plenty of esc for the system.

I tried a Mamba as an upgrade and running IP 2S 5000mah 30C lipos, I can't tell any diff, I've gone back to the Sidewinder and I'll use the Mamba in something else.

I have the Castle Creations Sidewinder/5700 on my SC10 Took it to the track on Thursday and after running for about 6 minutes, the truck would shut down. I'm running a 2S 5000 lipo. I geared down hoping that would solve the problem but it did not. Is the system overheating?

I'm a nitro guy so the whole brushless/lipo is new to me.

Thanks.

Yes, the sidewinder is a good unit. For the price it is awesome! The 4600 would probebly be better in a rustler, also I think you could run 3s on the 4600 sidewinder combo if you want some insane power!

That system is great in an xl-5 and plenty of power with a 2s lipo if you want less power go with a 6 cell nickle.
The LRP AI Pro 9.5 also works well in a rusty just slightly less power but smoother.
