Default Blitz expectations???

I just bought a Blitz after being out of R/C for years. After reading every review ever written and talking to the guy at my LHS, the Blitz seemed like the right choice for me. I bought a combo from the LHS that came with radio, charger, 3600 Nimh batt's and the truck of course. I came home and charged it up and took it for a spin. Is it supposed to be this slow stock??? Its a 15t motor in the truck and it seems slower than my old Losi truck with a p2k2 stock motor and Nicad batts. Is there any way to adjust the ESC because my brakes dont seem to work as they should. Are my expectations too high being that it's a stock truck?

Does the speed control have a "training" setting?

I own the blitz but I use it to club race. I installed a sidewinder esc and lipos. It works great for my application. If you want raw power go brushless and dump the nimhs. The esc is basic.

First tip - when charging the NiMH cells, don't believe the charger is done until they are warm in your hands. You may have gotten a "false peak" and the charger said done when it was not. NiMH are full and "fast" when warm. Try that and see what's up. Also, check the training mode as they said.

I'm running a Spec Slash. With a 19T pinion, SMC 2S /5200 / 50C Lipo, and the stock Titan 12T brushed motor, I'm running between 22 and 25 MPH, depending on how clean my line was down the front straight, and how bumpy the track is (one of my fellow club members has a radar gun and likes to let everyone know how fast they're running).

You should be able to easily match that with a Blitz. Like the other person said, make sure your speed control isn't in training mode.

Default Training Mode ?

To the best of my knowledge there is no training mode on the SC-15 esc. The Traxxas does though I think. I'm sure someone will chime in.

There are no "settings" on that speed control. It is not programmable. It is auto-sensing for throttle/brake. It's strictly forward/reverse. The reverse is dicey at best.
