I don't really see where this project is going or see how it will be any faster on 2S as a SC rather than a buggy? The 4x4 SC trucks are going to be running 8.5T and 10.5T motors which will blow the HV system away on the same battery. If the HV system doesn't blow your buggy up first.

My unsolicited advice is to sell this buggy as it is and use the money to buy a real 4x4 SC rig. I already saw a SLash 4x4 in the F/S section.

Does it have more of a point now? Electonics are not an issue right now, and a new r/c is not in the budget.
