I would either save just a bit more and get a Castle Sidewinder so that you can run brushless and/or lipo in the future without needing to buy again. Or I would search the forums or Ebay and find a good racing ESC used for your price range.
If you get any one of those ESCs you will be very limited to how much you can move up. If you want to race you will want to upgrade motor and batteries at some point. If you dont mind buying new stuff once you have more money then you could get one of those, any of them will work fine to get you on the track fast.

This would be a great basic racing ESC, it is light and low resistance. This is not my listing.

This would be your best option thats close to your price range.
Again not my auction.

That would be fine for what you want to do with it. I thought you were going to race it competitively thats why I recommended others for you.
T3 is still a great truck to race with.

Of those 2 the AI is probably the nicer controller...

The only catch is that the XP has a lipo cutoff circuit... If you ever plan to run Lipo that is a nice feature.

Although again.... You can find either of those ALOT cheaper either on the forum here or Ebay.

Yep, the SC200 can take lipo, but only a 17 turn motor, the AI can take a 13 turn motor, but no lipo.
I still recommend looking on here or ebay and finding a better ESC used for less money. Something Like a Super Rooster would take all you can throw at it. Then if you do decide later that you want to upgrade you will not have much invested, save the extra money to put towards a brushless system.

Go to the novak website and click on shopatron and look for RMF products. They're not new but the price is low and has full warranty. I got a GTB for less than a used one. It looked new when we got it almost two years ago and had no problems with it.
