There arn't alot of waterproof brushless combos. Another good one that is kinda water resistant(you can go trhue a puddle) is tha mamba max pro(200$). But if you get the sidewinder, you can only use the castle creations motor. I think the vxl or the mamba max pro are your best bang for your buck.

The problem that you are going to have with your brushed motor is that you are going to have to cut the comm every 10 runs ,change the brushes and clean it with motor cleaner. But, if you always do that maintenace you will have a really good motor.

It's a good idea. But your motor will probably be dead at the end of the winter because water shortens the life of a brushed motor.

I have a velineon in my SC10. It makes ridiculous power.

The downside is that I had to shut off the lipo cutoff because it's set for 3s so it would kick in way to early on my 2s packs.

Default slash 1/10

I have the traxxas brushless in my slash with the 1/8 scale adapters by AKA on the wheels to be able to run 1/8 scale tires n rims and its plenty power running 21/86 and getting about 28 min runtime with SMC 4100 lipo. No problems at all with the speedcontrol since day 1. Its actually a little to much for the track i run on. I believe its also waterproof and the warrantys by traxxas are very good as long as you dont abuse your equipment.
