Default graphite or ea3?

hey well i have a losi xxxtcr and i broke a shock tower. i havent had this car very long(2 months) and this is the first part i broke beside the turnbuckles/ball studs. Well my question is im bashing right now since there is not racing until summer again and i was wondering if i should buy a graphite or just the ea3 parts? Which is more durable?

If it is a rear tower the EA3 has some additional tuning holes but I don't use any of them personally. If you use holes 1-3 then I would go graphite otherwise you will have to stick with the EA3.

I prefer graphite ovee EA3 everywhere.

I have a EA3 truck converted to a SCT and a MF1 truck. I have not broken anything on my EA3 truck besides the stock turn buckle. I like them both and have not experienced any problems with either type of material.

EA3 plastic parts are much more durable than the brittle but stiff graphite parts. For bashing and even racing most people are better off with the EA3 since it flexes rather than snaps.

is the graphite stronger than the ea3? it seems like the graphite might just break rather than flex a little

It's stiffer but will break easier than the EA3 part. Stronger is the wrong adjective to use.

Graphite = stiff and light but fragile

EA3 = cheaper and more forgiving

Graphite is just stonger!

EA3 is supposed to be more impact resistant. Basically you can hit it more times without it breaking. The problem is Graphite will take a harder hit without breaking. When it does break it snaps though.

EA3 does have more flex to it so in some ways it may be more forgiving but the strength properties of graphite are far better.

Personally I do not like my arms to flex. It give a degree of freedom I cannot control. If you want a softer car go lighter in oil or lighter on the spring. I would say chassis flex is the only thing you may want as it can give more traction to the car and the only way to do that is with a more forgiving material like EA3. If you want strength though stick with graphite.

Another thing is I am not all that familiar with graphite in cold weather. (it is usually not very cold here in socal). EA3 may be better in colder weather though. It may not get as stiff as cold graphite and may be better in this weather.

Hit stuff hard enough you will break either! Graphite has taken more of a beating for me then the EA3 though.

well im just bashing and jumping. i mean a few hard landings here and there. the front shock tower isnt competly broken. i was driving it w/o a body just to tune some stuff and my brother cut me off and i hit a car and it cracked. Will the graphite take more hits and is it worth that little extra money?

I feel it is but that decision is up to you. Hitting cars tends to break things regardless of the material!
