SLASH or SC10??
 

So, i have a slash now with GTB 10.5 DX3S Jr servo bedlocks bowties and lots of RPM parts. So i am thinking it of selling it and getting a Kit SC10. (I would put the stock electronics in and put the slash on EBAY then put my electronics it the SC10) I want to race it more to be more competetive because the slash doesnt handle well. So please tell me what you think.

Last Saturday at a race, I was actually faster over a 5-minute main with my Mamba Max 4600 Slash than I was with my XXX-TCR 10.5. On a VERY tight track. Once you get where you're not traction rolling a slash, they're pretty consistent. The SC10, I think, WILL be faster with a good driver. But the Slash really surprised me this last weekend. Almost beat the local short course hotshot SC10 guy with a Slash made of metal, with lights, and a stock steering servo.

That being said, I'm going to buy an SC10 and a 17.5 system for spec class racing around here. My Slash is too heavy to even consider working in that situation. I'm keeping my Slash though, for playing with at home when I feel like pulling wheelies in the street. :)

Why not look at the hpi blitz?

My Slash is set up with a Castle 4600 as well, though mine is completely stock other than a 2.4. I only race occasionally, and even then, I'm slow regardless of what I drive.

If your Slash is dialed and you've got experience with it, I'd say stick with it. I'm jealous of all your RPM parts, though I haven't had any issues with the stock parts yet (haven't had it that long).

The SC10 is a great truck, but it's not going to be all that different from the Slash. It's still a 2wd SC truck. Better handling, but more fragile in comparison to the Slash from guys that own both.

I'd keep the 2wd Slash and get either a 4x4 SC (Hyper 10SC or Slash), or a 2wd buggy. Just to try something different.

If you really like SC and want to stick with it, I had a conversation with a guy a few weeks ago that owns the Slash, SC10, and the Blitz.

He considers the Blitz to drive better than the SC10 and more durable than the Slash.

The Hyper10SC is the priciest SC option, but it look REALLY good as far as quality and design.

I was thinking of it then i could keep the bedlocks but i love the look of the SC10 plus i like to build it.

The Sc10 rules all when you:
-switch to 30 degree caster blocks
-30/25 wt shock oil
-40wt diff oil
-full short front camber link positions. full long rear.
-proline bowties
-don't use beadlock wheels, too heavy
-arms/bones slightly below level
-rpm ball cups (make sure to grease the turnbuckle threads so they spin smooth)
-short rear wheelbase, move rear uprights forward.
-change the shock orings and green slime every 2 weeks, maybe 3 on the rears.

im a sc10 owner and love it, but at our local track the slashes have been up front every week in the stock class. now that they have switched to roar sct rules im anxious to see what happens.

Push that sc10 to win! When i did have my sc10 it was keeping up with T4's, XXXt's.The SC10 is fast when driven right with the right set up.

Hands down, if your running in a open SC class, I would recommend the SC10.

At my local track the sc10s dominate. The only problem with racing the sc10 is knowing how to navigate around all the overturned slashes on the track.

I owned both and owned them as bashers. SC10 was for me personally SLASH I bought and my girlfriend ended up driving it. Both held up well .. I personally like Associateds quality better but the Traxxas does have potential with all the hop ups on the market. On my SC10 I did a lot of aluminum stuff from STRC on my SLASH I did a lot of STRC and Integy .. the SC10 however handling MUCH better on the surfaces I used it on (nearby park with bike trail and a TON of jumps). The ONLY thing I didn't like on the SC10 was the limited wheel choices so I had to buy the STRC hub conversion.

End of the day if I had to do it again ... SC10.

I run Mod sc and the Sc10s are always in front and nobody runs the blitz in mod only in stock.

The slash is built for begininers. It has plastic that bends but doesnt break. Personally i love associated ive had a TC3,TC4 and TC5r and loved them all.
