TAMIYA SAND SCORCHER
Cool, I still have the original which I bought around 1982(not running now). The front suspension would pop out constantly + I couldn't find a better drive universal for the spur gear side, which wore out easily with the power I upgraded to. It was fairly heavy duty for back then (so much aluminum & hardly any plastic). I'd like to see some better chassis pics to see what they changed or upgraded. With no ESC, it was difficult to handle with the race motor & home-made 7cell batteries I used to fit inside the waterproof clear case, but it only had 3-5 min runtime back then & constantly heated up. I've been into nitro pro-kit truggies for the last few years, & it's been collecting dust for about 20 years now. With brushless & Lipo, electric has sparked my interest again.
cheers,
cheers,

I'm sure the collectors that have been paying thousands for old N.I.B. SS kits are going to be crying big time. This release is really going to hurt the saleability of the old kits. Even if they price the new release high it'll still be cheaper than an original. PLUS you won't be afraid to take it out and drive it.......

I don't know about the decals. I think for the Buggy Champ 2009, it was a different decal set since it's a Buggy Champ and not a Rough Rider.
But this time, seems like Tamiya kept its original name. Who knows? There might be some slight difference in decal, I know that the Fire Dragon re-re had slightly different decals, although I couldn't tell the difference since I didn't have the original...
Seems like Tamiya finally corrected the "4wd" to "2wd." For the longest time, I thought it was going to be a variant of the DF-03 or the DB-01 with a Scorcher body...
Tamiya really knows and understands their market. I have the Buggy Champ 2009, and it's an awesome vehicle. So different from the cookie-cutter, "me-too," vehicles we see today...
I have to say, there's many stadium-style chassis that people try to use as an SRB, but this chassis style is truly made TO BE an SRB...
I can't wait to paint mine up, I think part of the fun with these hard shells is the painting, since now, you can do it on the outside!!! Even a RC painting-challenged person like me can tackle it!
