T-4 pinion help

Running a 10.5 with a 81 spur. Right now i'm running a 22 pinion. Does anyone run a bigger pinion? 24 or 25, or is that to big. I'm running on carpet.

Can your motor move back more?

I ran mine 78/27. I ran pretty cool for how high i was geared. I would just try to gear it until it gets to about 130-140 degrees a run. Or if u notice u have no torque.

Depends on tire-size (if on carpet, you using foams? How cut-down?) and also track size and the type of corner-flow it has. Go early for practice, run a higher gear and lower the pinion size until your lap times are the best for your track without sacrificing top-speed.

Daryl, at MARCCA last year, I ran my T4 with a 16-18 tooth pinion and a 78T (I think, could have been 75) spur. No heat problems to speak of and turned decent laps:) That was with a Novak SS5800 system. Chad M. or Jeff Mann can definitely help you out with gearing issues, or anything else with the T4:nod:

With a 10.5 you shoud be geared 20 / 87, but it all depends on your track. Thats how I ran the 10.5 in my sc10 and t4 with temps under 150.

87 is stock, so if your supur is an 81 your pinion needs to be around an 22.

With that said - your geared correctly.

The only way to be sure, for sure, is to temp the motor and esc.

What are your temps

Wow, a striaght answer. Temps are good, but speed in straights is bad. And the bottom doesn't seem to be there anymore. Motor most be on the way out.

Beloitracer, Mr. Mann and little man now run kyosho no show trucks. Mr. Jensen got his hands on 1 now too. He said the truck is great. We will see what he can do with it. It sure made Little Mann pretty darn fast.

So I've heard, looking forward to seeing what they can do when I'm back at MARCCA. I'm studying abroad right now, but I'll hopefully be back for carpet challenge.

I'm Adam Eckert by the way, I don't know if we met last season, but I raced carpet from March until the end of the season.
