5000 Lipo fit into B4
Old racer here, getting back in. Just bought a B4FT. I purchased two 5000mah Lipo packs - a Thunder Power 40C and a Reedy 35C (ASC709). Neither of the packs seems to fit into the rectangular battery compartment "box" at the rear (under the rear shock tower) - the packs go in maybe 1/4" but then stop. I'm able to use the Thunder Power one with the battery in essentially a forward position, but I can't even get the battery hold down brace into the rear compartment (under the lip) with the Reedy pack (the Reedy pack is slightly thicker than the TP pack).
I've looked at a number of B4 setup sheets and it seems most times the battery is run in the "front" position. So, maybe I don't need to worry as much about getting the battery to go back to the rear (although it seems that might be a nice tuning option to have, as the chassis designers intended it with the older Nimh battery cells). But, I'm still confused as to how I can use the Reedy pack. With the Reedy pack, are people just not putting the hold down under the rear compartment lip (i.e. holding down the battery with just the front posts), or is it necessary to modify either the hold-down (thinning it out), or remove material from the underside of the rear compartment lip to make room for the hold-down?
Thanks for any thoughts or advice.

B4 thread, here, what every. The Reedy was designed to fit in associated buggies and trucks. So it will fit. If you put the foam spacer to the rear and the pack towards the front it will fit with no issues.
The lipo packs should be towards the front as they are light the front of the buggy is light, and the motor is in the rear. The buggy will balance better, any way, but the 5000mah reedy packs fit the associated buggies.

Take a good look at the back of the tray, you will see on the bottom the two little tabs sticking out of the anti-squat shim (page 8 manual). This prevents a square flat pack from being pushed all the way to the rear. I too use a Reedy 5000 and I wasnt able to use the foam spacer till I removed those little "ears" off the shim.
