I just got a mugen filter setup for my kyosho. Ruining an engine really sux. Doing it at the races with no backup engine makes it suck even more.

Default xray

OK I can answer that for Jim seeing as how he hasn't answered it here for a while. I am going out on a limb here and going to say he likes the car now a lot. That is because he just got sponsered by XRAY. Congrats Jim!! I look forward to trying (key word trying) to beat you at the next state race...

LOL, I haven't been getting e mail notices,

Jeff, your right, the XB8 just became the best car, hahaha........

Actually after driving Jim Larrimores car I knew the X ray car would suit my driving style. And the car I biult is exactly what I expected. It has lots of good traction on power, but turns in good, not hairy steering, but good usable steering. My previous car would steer in so much that I was always un doing something I just did. This car is also very good in the bumps with 50 losi oil in front and 40 losi oil in back. It reminds me of my 7.5 a couple years ago, but much more trick and adjustable.

I like the one peice engine mount too, very trick that you can access engine screws to remove the engine without head interference, trick stuff. I say "trick" alot when using X ray stuff, LOL.

My first race I qualified 15th, but since it rained out after one round and I spent alot of time getting to know the turn marshals on that one run, I don't feel too bad. I took the aluminum shoes out to try carbon instead and i'm trying an 053 pipe, rather then the JP1 I had on it..............we'll see how it goes in Daytona the 10th and 11th............., Jim

seems there is always something holding it back from major victory or easy victories
I would say the jammin drives better, xb is nicest build

The xrays at the tiltyard this past weekend were dialed. Where do you get your information from?

sounds like some needs a set up. I can make my XB8 do anything I want it to, including traction to spare.

Speedy2, i'm not "sure" about anything, but imo, the XB8 has better traction then my X1 did, in fact that is the main reason I switched. I had a few small bugs in my X1 brakes, etc, but I never could get it to feel "hooked up" to my liking. That isn't to say the X1 isn't a good car though, especially for the money.

The XB8 has won and TQed it's fair share of races, since drivers are so important with wins though, it is hard to give credit only to the car, even though it is of course a factor.

I'll let you know after a half dozen races if i'm still in love with the thing, haha...., Jim

racermac, the 1.4 pistons have 1.4mm holes and the 1.5's are 1.5 mm, so use the appropriate drill if available, usually a machinists drill set would be needed, unless you have a killer hardware store around.

The XB8R has less expensive towers, molded plastic chassis braces, Cv style axles rather then universals and i'm not sure if the chassis will have the one piece mount provision machined in or not?
Imo, the only thing you may really want(or need) that is missing is the shock towers upgrade, making the "R" a deal!........Jim
