I've also find this car needs to use down stops, the rear at lease. If you let the rear arm drop to the lowest position, the universal will lock up!

Check the post I did on page 3 (in this thread) when building it a month ago. I smoothened out the edge in the outdrives with the dremel so you could use moore droop without the bones locking up in the outdrives... At the worlds we adjusted the down-stop screws after that (front and rear) so it didnt lock up. We used max droop (more then what you can have as stock).

Can somebody (excluding factory drivers) give us some feedback regarding the performance of the car, ie. handling, maintenance, etc. so that we can get an idea of how well this car performs on various types of tracks.

Preferrably if you could also compare it to K3, 777 or X5.

Thanks a lot.

Do you guys find your shocks leaks? I ran mine for the first time on Saturday and after about 5 tanks or so, I notice the car runs very bumpy. I check my shocks and found that it lost all its damping and some oil alraedy leak out. There were 2 other XB8 that day and they both had the same problem!
??????? Any similar experience guys?

Talking

mine is on its way right now, picked it up for $620 shipped on ebay. i plan on getting a OS VZ-B V-spec for it and i already have a Jammin JP-1 pipe. what servo's do you guys recommend. i want digital so that i can use futaba's HRS system down the road with a reciever upgrade for my 3PM. id also like to keep servo cost under $80 each. this is going to be a race only buggy since i already have a PRP Swift for bashing and backup car. also are there any good setup sheets out for a hardpacked slick track? i know its a lot of questions but im hoping to get it all covered right the first time. thanks in advance guys.

Seems like a set of Futaba 9451's will fit your budget, and criteria perfectly. I don't use an HRS system, but I use 9451's on both throttle and steering.

running without using the downstops relys on the shock pistons limiting the travel of the suspension on full droop! this could easily break a shock piston!

if you wanted loadsa droop you shoulda got a 777

hopefully they will have any initial problems sorted by the time my car arrives! second shipment
