I suggest the D4- It has shocks that are as good (or better) than Kyosho, which IMO is the current benchmark. They also have some very cool features on this car, such as rubber damped arm mounts, aluminum everywhere, and it was well thought out. Yes it resembles a B44, but it is unique and is its own car. I have found it is easy to drive and has been very reliable (I have owned both a B44 and D4). You cannot go wrong either way, but I hope that helps.

I don't think you'd like a B55. They have 5 wheels, and are 5 wheel drive.

No but seriously, I'd get the B44. Easy to get parts for.

in my opinion i would go with the d4. i have had the d4 b44 and the yoke mr4bx. out of the 3 the d4 is the most forgiving to drive.you can make more mistakes and still be ok versus having to stay on top of the b44 all the time. both cars are made to be driven hard but i think the b44 is hard to drive. it depends on your driving style. if you can find some people at a track that will let you drive both of these cars to see which one you like.

My B44 is super easy to drive. The only problem ive had is one striped ring and pinion.

All this talk of the d4 being more planted and easier to drive does have me very curious. Might have to get one or a dex410.

This is like comparing a Chevy Camaro to a Ford Mustang.
Both cars are good. I have never owned a D4 yet. The B44 parts are super cheap though. The D4 parts are probably just as cheap. The D4 probably has better shocks but the chassis on both is similar.
I dont much care for 1 thing on the B44. I dont like the idea
of having the shocks behind the tower. Turns the B44 into a bulldozer.
That's probably why the B44 has so much steering, and why people are breaking shock shafts. I'm thinking one of those big bumpers I saw on ebay will help overcome that.

I owned a B44 and D4 and i like more the D4, the car have little bit more grip on loose surface, better foward traction and the shock are little bit more efficient.

All the parts on the D4 are more durable and better quality

For example on my B44, i broke every week 2 shock shaft on the landing jump.
On my D4, i only broke an upper case and never a shock shaft.

If you are looking for a D4, i sell mine :

The only bumpers you will ever need are the T-Bone Racing bumpers. Lifetime replacement warranty! RPM can't beat that...

Since I only use my cars for racing money is not an issue at all. Although there may be better cars, the D4 for example, I choose to run a B44 simply because the parts are infinitely easy to come by. If i had a D4 and broke something at my local track they would not have the part available for me but they usually do for the B44. Even if it costs me 2x as much to race all year the B44 is my choice of all the available cars. Consequently, I don't have a lot of issues with breakage. Occasionally I break a front arm but it's always the result of me hitting something.
