I think it would be fun as hell with a couple friends.
The slash is pretty much worthless when compaired to the cars I normally race but have you ever seen a slash race? People at my track line the fence to watch slash races & no matter how bad the driver is doing everyone on the stand is smiling & laughing.I think there is hope for a once in a while 450 race.

watching them race the cross on youtube it looks HARD, but alot of fun. Also just found this while digging around on quanum's website for telemetry info. It will probably be released by hobbycity and may be the bike that they have been talking about for awhile now.

I have ONE!!!
I have the DX450. I hated it at first. Thought it was garbage. Thing kept falling apart. But after you tune it a little and fix the bugs from the factory its pretty damn fun. Here are some things I had to do to it to get it to work right and things you should do right out of the box if you want this thing to be fun.
1) Re-lock tight every bolt and let it dry for at least 12 hours
2) Do not put the metal collars on the crash bars.
3) Cut the crash bars shorter
4) take out the weights and retainer rings in the gyro.(makes it much more responsive)
5) Turn the front wheel around so the axle is fwd
6) stretch the front fork springs about 1/2" longer than they are
7) wipe the forks with silicone oil to help them move better
8) Add a wheelie bar to the back so the rear fender doesn't get ripped off
9) move the steering collars in to tighten it up.
10) add a steering damper
11) Order the oil filled forks soon to be released at the end of the month.
12) get a new rider. The one it comes with is LAME.
13) Stiffen up the rear shock. I added a traxxas spacer. Also needs thicker oil for dampening.
Do that and you got a great bike. But even after all this, the forks still need work. I back ordered the oil filled ones Duratrax is making.

DX 450 at OCRC
Hey guys, thanks for the tips! I just got one for christmas. Anyway, just a heads up to anyone else out there...I'll be bringing mine to OCRC in a couple weeks (Jan. 23rd?) and if it works maybe a new class will be born?

What should i do to make mine steer better? Seems ok in grass but will not turn on blacktop, just slides. Any tips on this from anyone.

Anyone know if the electrics from one of these would work in say a traxxas russler?

Finally found a thread on this... I bought our first one for my son... on the bench the thing is a monster... and I have a feeling this is going to be a ton of fun on our track... the track is much smoother than most I see in the videos so the choppiness should be fairly controlled... the list of tips above all seem like really good ones... and I started implementing them on the current bike...

Old question... new answer...
Heres the short list:
Duratrax DX450
Anderson M5
Venom VMX450
Hobbyking QRF400
I am sure theres probably one or two more... and I see people are retrofitting some of the Rad Shack bikes (Ricky Charmichael bike for instance) to be competitive...
