Default 2nd generation Slash???

I know im gonna sound stupid but here goes.....I keep seeing things that mention a "2nd Generation Slash". What is this? Is is just a newer release of the original 2wd Slash? Any differences? Ive seen upgrade parts and they say "will fit 2nd gen slash".
Again, dont mean to sound stupid but im confused.

Thanks.

It could mean one of two things. The newer waterproof version of the Slash (Blue ESC and sealed receiver box) or the not yet released 4x4 Slash. Hope this helps.

The slash has always been waterproof.

Its most likely talk of the new 4x4 version.

The first gen has 2.2 wheels in and out and a different body.

I thought the only difference between 1st and 2nd generation where the wheels and tires... later ones came with the 2.2/3.0 tires and wheels for better handling.

I'd hope they'll finally offer up a lower CG chassis to more directly compete with the Blitz & SC10...

Then they should base one directly off the Rustler and not the stampede.

Extend the rustler chassis 1 7/8" and it fits just right. I'm surprised traxxas hasn't released a Low CG extended chassis for racing yet.

I think it is referring to the upcoming 4WD Slash.
