Default Which motor/esc for MBX6T + help with gearing

I'm planning a brushless truggy for bashing + some track driving in the future also. This is the setup i'm thinking now:

Mugen MBX6T, RCMonster mbx6t brushless conversion kit, Tekin 1700Kv or 1550kv truggy combo with a 5s 5000mah G3 Hyperion battery pack.

I'm looking for a reliable package.

Do you think this is a good setup? What pinion size should i get?

my setup:

4S g3 5500
t8 2250kv
rx8
gearing 13-46
gearing 14-46

I think your setup will be fine with 13-14/46

I'm running the MMM, 2000Kv T8 truggy & 5S with 46/15's. It's stupidly fast & over powered. My next motor for the truggy on 5S will be the 1700 T8.

Here's mine. I run the RX8 2000 combo on 4S. Perfect track racer. Fan is removed on my ESC and the temps never climb higher than 120. Geared 46 x 16 at the momment. Might drop it down to 46 x 15.

Best. Truggy. Ever.

Looks like you have chosen a good reliable package that should do everything you want it to. Start with the stock spur which I think is a 46(?) and a 14 pinion. That should get you in the ball park.
