I am really happy with this. It will segment the class a bit but what a sick truck. We all (Slash racers and bashers) wanted a 4WD version from the get go. Now if they can keep the price down (under $400) then they could have another hit. Putting a MMM into this thing would be insane. Way to go Traxxas!!!

no need for a MMM, if you want a 6S setup probably the Mamba Max Pro is what you would want.

I think this would not interfere with the regular 2wd slash. This may be the thing that brings 4wd back into fashion. With the popularity of CORR style vehicles, now you have one that is 4wd and electric. So you could still do you 2wd vehicle, and do a 4wd vehicle on the same race day if you want.

I know I shot this over to a manufacturer I know to see if they can work on there own vehicle to give the 4wd slash some competitors like it has in the 2wd market from the SC10. Since out here we run 4wd as open, if they don't do anything I may get this.

I hope though they offer something so I can use 48 Pitch gears since this uses a 32Pitch setup.

Traxxas just KILLED 2wd SCT racing.

$$ might keep 2wd going this next year yet, but it's gonna have a hard time, especially if this thing is priced under $400.

I disagree. You can have both still assuming you run these as a seperate class. Now, if where you race just runs them together, THEN you may see 2wd start to drop off in your area a bit. But in general, most places I have been too are more willing to run 2wd vehicles together than run a mix of 2wd and 4wd vehicles of the same scale.

TD,

I don't think so!

4x4 is just adding another class of racing not killing 2WD. I see it killing the old truck, buggy class.

As much fun as it is to run the slash this thing is going to be awesome! I will race my 2WD and the new 4WD for sure.

I told ya! must an "E" 4wd Slash.... I'm glad that is a brand new chassis, not from e-revo.

IF track owners stay loyal to the 2wd version, it may have a chance, But I don't see that happening. The new slash will cater to a lot of racers, and probably bring those in who refused to race the 2wd version. Add 4x4 to the title, and racers will come. I think it's going to hurt the 8th scale electric buggy class because of the price...Maybe, We'll see.

Angry

This one is gonna turn everthing upside down. Its a no brainer, brushless, 2.4 ghz radio, basically you have a badass setup for racing right out of the box. Its not going to be cheap enough to kill off 2wd CORR truck but it is going to bring in more people who are already racing 4wd buggy or budget minded 1/8 scaler's who are looking to change over to 1/10 scale electrics. My rc budget is blown for the year so I am out.
