couple updates:

Still waiting on the tekin 1700kv
Accidently crossed two wires on my lipo balance plug so hopefully when the motor comes I can test it and make sure it works ::Fingers Crossed::
For some reason the steering servo stopped centering so I have to figure that out - prolly just because its TP but I guess ill find out

Thats all for now

Stay Tuned for more updates, pics, and videos

Got the tekin 1700kv

Ran with my 5S lipo and GPS showed it to top out at 41mph

I am going to play with gearing a bit to see what I can get

Also ran on track and it ran great

what size pinion were you using, 16t?
did you get any temp readings.

i'm just curious because i'm running a 1700kv xcelorin on my 8ight-t 1.0

16T pinion
45T Spur

Temps were not hot - I ran for awhile and at the end I did the finger test and I could comfortably hold my hand on it endlessly - I would say if I ran it for another 5-10 min I may have stopped for temps but at that point I had ran for 25-30 min using 4200mAh of 5200mAh

Ive heard that the associated truck is very good but im running a 8ight-t 1.0 and its very durable and good and the 2.0 is an improvement on it so I would say an 8ight-t 2.0 or an Associated RC8T or even the 8ight-t 1.0 would be great choices

So, would you say you are happier with the 1700 kv motor over the 2250? I am converting my 8ight 2.0 T and am going crazy over what setup to buy. NEw to E and want to make the right decision the first time if possible. I kinda was set on 4s and 2000kv but now I'm thinking to go lower 1550 or 1700 on 5s. To many options!!

Not sure if you knew this but that 2050 you ran in there was a "buggy" motor, short can. If that was a truggy style motor "long can" I think 5S would have been fine just VERY powerful. There is a big weight difference between buggy and truggy. Especially with an older model truggy I would for sure go for a Truggy style motor the older platforms are a little heavier then the newest of course. I am using the MMM/2200 in buggy now which is a truggy motor but thats okay it just works easier and I like it alot, but I want to go to a 6S set up myself.

Yea I knew about it a bit after I was running it.

I am happy with the 1700kv truggy motor mainly because of its power to temp ratio. I can beat on it for 20-30 min and its warm. Im not sure about the 2050kv but I do know the higher you go in kv the higher the temps go. I am able (with stock conversion gearing) to do standing wheelies (resting back on the wing) for as long as I have room to drive. Also, I tested the top speed with gps and it went 41mph. If thats not fast enough I can always go with 6s but I dont want to increase temps and the truggy is ridiculous anyways.

You wont ever have a need to go 6S on there just go up 2-3 teeth on the pinion. I am at 41-42mph on my Ve8 MMM/2200 19pinion 4s 5000. I was thinking about going to 1400 6S, but really want 5s and 1700 but there arent any 5S packs that fit my car with enough mah for me. I want 4000 at least to get the same at least runtime as I see with my current set up.

My runtimes are awesome with my 5s 5200mah but my truggy has room to spare - im not sure of the space of your batt tray : (

Im most likely going to stick with what I am running now but if I wanted more speed ill play with gearing and if that doesn't do it (which im sure it will) then I may toy with 6s for fun
