Ben, I think you should ask this question at the nitro discussion, not here since mp10 is not yet out as electric.

I am running an MP9e TKI that I picked up used so I'm new to the car/sport. One of the front diff shafts broke (IF412) and the part won't be here for a few days yet. Can I (easily) convert it to RWD? Is there a way to lock the center differential? And if so, can the rear of the drivetrain handle the added stress?

Thanks.

there are nitro guys fitting the TKI4 shell to their MP10. Stands to reason they’d go the other way. Only need to be careful with the mounting holes. You’re right though for electric that’s a different proposition. My nitro shell wouldn’t fit on a TKI4 electric. The EVO it does no problem. Difference being the lower mounted battery.

safest way to “lock” the diff would be to fill it with a thick diff grease/oil say 1000000 CST plus any less and you will get some power bleed to the front and/or you’ll cook the oil. It wouldn’t stress the rear as the tires will burn up or spin well before the drivetrain gets stressed. Personally, I’d wait for the spare.

Hi, if you are running this car I think you should try this layout. I think it works better on certain track conditions. If the track is technical and blown out I feel breaking works better with this one, since it does not dive to ruts as easily. This is how the RTR mp9e is assembled by the way from the factory. If you have tried this please let us know how you felt about it ?
Cheers

Default Pinion gear

What size pinion are you guy's using with the Tekin Gen 3 2050kv medium outdoor track one fast straight, the rest of the track is tight with a lot of jumps? MP9E Tki4 is the car.

I just reconfigured my car too. Willing to give it a try to see how it handles.
When viewing it, I like the way the motor/esc balances the battery pack.

Question for you. What have you done to the rear motor mount? It appears as if it is doubled up some how?

i never cut my tray but used to rout the cable behind the motor. I didn’t like the idea of the cable running so close to the pinion. Just be sure to give it enough clearance to allow motor removal.

Not sure Boots or Tebo ran the Evo. ( I could be wrong) I know that they are both with new manufactures.

You´ll only need the Motor mount, battery tray, radio box and a pinion.
