What's the most durable 1/10 4WD buggy made?
 

What's the most durable 1/10 4WD racing buggy made? Currently have a Tamiya DF-03 that breaks way too often.

B44 or 501x

i think its the traxxas slash. and its one of the cheapest and best cars thats electric.

Running a Tamiya DB01 with many upgrades, so far very durable, I do crack a rear A-arm once in a while due to soft suspension setup, belt driven cars are a little more maintenance, the 501x in my opinion belongs on carpet but some people run them just not to keen on the belt system out in the open, the B44 seems a little fragile if you make mistakes but really good car otherwise, I think the Kyosho Lazer SP or the new FS is a good choice but a little pricey, I see them at my local track and both take a good beating with no issues. The FS will probably be my next 4wd buggy.

everyone that says the TRF 501/511 drivetrain doesn't belong in dirt has never owned one. I see these take dirt with no problem.

If you want durable, you need a tamiya "plastic" 4wd buggy...DF02, DF03, DB01 etc...race buggies are made to be super light...lightweight generally = more fragile.

Yeah, I don't get this whole belt bashing thing either.

Shaft driven 4wd doesn't fare any better, my spur and pinion is exposed but I don't get little to no dirt inside since I use the undertray that flares up and turns the chassis to tub, then velcro it off on the sides to seal it...

There are a few exceptions to this rule. I *think* the DB-01 is sealed, or at least somewhat protected and my DF-03 is also protected... Oh yeah, my Fire Dragon is protected too...

Most of the damage isn't in the drivetrain, it's in the front arms.

For beefiness of front arms, I have to cast my vote to the TRF501x/511x buggies. They are BEEFY...


B44 arms are pretty fragile, but I haven't broken any lately, like what joelwhite stated, just don't hit any stuff...

I own a b44, kyosho zx5 fs, and a BJ4WE and recently bought a Team Durango DEX410 and it is by far the best built and most durable 4wd on the market. No other 4wd on the market even compares to it.

I raced it this weekend on a huge 1/8th scale nitro track with a huge triple and no problems. My kyosho broke twice.
