Bah, bunch of pussies if you ask me. Traveling there poses small risk. You would be worse off in some parts of LA! I don't know why people are so afraid to travel. Such a great experience! Some people are just so uninformed and afraid of anything outside of North America. It is a shame.

Hi,
This seems to be the track :
http://www.trap.co.za/offroadep/inde...rack&Itemid=12

No big air jumps, seems to be slippy.... Not the usual American track .
Cavalieri, Tebo and all the top American drivers are unbeatable on blue groove but there ...
So since he won the last euros in 4WD i'd say Marc Reinhard .
In 2WD i'd say Hupo Honigl for the same reason or Neil Cragg .

Just my opinion .

Any updates on any of the Teams/Drivers that are planning to attend?

Dirt looks interesting. Wonder if it will groove up?

As of August 13, only 24 drivers registered. 12 from SA and 12 international, zero from US. Link here.

Tebo, Cav, Maifield, Truhe etc can all adapt to any kind of traction pretty easily....I wouldn't count them out because of the type of dirt. It will be the same for everyone. While the locals might have inside knowledge on day one, the top guys will get up to speed fast. Look at the Italian worlds in '05. Pretty slippery conditions and those guys all did fine. Japan in '07, chaotic conditions...and they did fine. It is always the same guys in the A Main for the most part.

Hopefully more will get registered as the event date approaches. If not, this Worlds may be a total FLOP!

Time will tell...

This year's race will carry an asterik for all time. I doubt any US drivers will go. Whoever wins, it wont mean anything

With only 24 drivers they could run the Worlds in an afternoon. Corner marshalls might be a problem. Good Luck to those who attend.

If these cry babies don't want to man up and go to the biggest race of the class then tough on them! The Worlds rotates around the world to be fair to all. But again, I hear Pillars and Tebo are going and I am sure many of the teams are just late in registering. You will see big guns there. I would think there is a fair amount of contingency money on the line for them not to go! The track looks pretty good IMO. There were plenty of world class racing events going in in RSA this year without incident. Much bigger events than a RC car race.
