LOL! I was thinking the same thing really. They were way too excited and somewhat annoying after a while. The Vorza pole smack and fall to the ground was just brutal though.

What's weird is... they had better drivers there! In the shot near the end where they were reviewing the jump on camera, I can see Frank from HPI in the background. He's the guy in the Savage XS videos and on their DVDs. He's got more experience driving these things than everyone else in that video combined. So yeah, it's questionable but hey, a record is a record!

Also, they claim they were running the 2650KV motor on 6S in that video. It may not be recommended... but there you have it. I figured it would be more suited for 4S operation. As easy as the motor is to swap, I'm really going to enjoy having the options.

Anyone know of a company that makes bigger battery trays for this thing? My tray wont last much longer, Theres a big crack on the front part of the battery tray wall. I had to cut it to fit my 2 3S SMC Batteries in there, which weakened the tray itself.

I COULD use 2 2s batteries so they will fit better.. But after running it with 6s, I will honestly never use anything less than 6s again. So much power, I love it!

Red face

I noticed in the owners manual, they say 6 AA batteries for the transmitter,
it only takes 4

that's because hpi still uses their old manual that was released with first edition of the vorza which comes with FM or AM radio that time. Now it's all comes with 2.4ghz system that requires only 4AA batteries .
BTW, most RTR's from other manufacturers comes with cheap low quality 2.4ghz radio, hpi's one is not. It's really a quality product radio .

Cool

I'm just saying that I would rather use 4 instead of 6 batteries
I COULD use 2 2s batteries
Thats all I'm using now.

Same as me. No way to go down less than 6S with all my buggys.
i tried several packs sizes non of them fits w/o raising the body from the left side.
the only way to use will fit packs is to buy 3S 4500 mah packs. it comes just perfect fit along with the biggest mAh capacity possible.

Are you guys using the stock battery tray? I just broke another one and I really don't want to buy another one and have it break again, I'd rather spend my money on something more durable. Are there any options out there, or do I have to make something of my own?

in the below link is the same setup for hitting the 73mph which is a very strange way only added the 2650kv motor which is totally incorrect!!!!

Simply because the hpi flux 2650kv motor limits to 16.8v Max !
here are their words : http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/102701/

also Check the table on Castle's offecial website below
http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...a_monster.html
Because a 2650 with a 6s behind it is turning over 66,000 rpm's!!!

But when ya have a 6s.... and a Castle 2650kv .... WHO CAN RESIST???

My 2650kv motor and MM2 ESC arrived early this morning. Much to my surprise, the motor included an 18T pinion. Unfortunately, it's not the right pitch. My melted ESC tray went back to HPI with the Blur ESC so I'll have to make a plate to level the mounting surface. I've got some ABS around here somewhere. The motor mount fits perfectly on the front of the motor thanks to the groove cut into the mount. The back half of the mount does not have that groove cut into it so I'll have to grind down the last cooling fin on the motor to make it fit. The fan... plugs into the receiver? I didn't expect that but it is removable so I guess it had to plug in somewhere.

Gotta make some deliveries today so I'll be stopping by the LHS's to look for pinions. The Vorza will live again!

am i missing something here ?
how can the 2650kv motor handles 6S while it's limited to 16.8 volts while the 6S is 22.2v ?

Anyone explain this ?

The esc is capable. The motor is capable. But together the motor is sucking power through the esc at a rate that's fairly unforgiving. It can be done but not for long. Either something goes POOF! Or melts into a puddle. Gotta keep checking the temperature of the esc.

Yes,you can run the 2650 on 6S for speed runs, just not for prolonged periods.

almost confinced. hpi shouldn't violate the standared specifications by the motor manufacturer ( Castle Creations ) and recommended using a 16.8v limited motor with 22.2v .
anyway, that's means only that using this motor with such lipo voltage shouldn't be something wise because this logically not covered by the warranty .
