Ryan,

March is coming! I see a test date coming soon! So how does your weekends look for this month?

I will be the only guy without a Vorza so I hope you guys wont hold it against me. LOL
I will have my Losi. But this will be good for you all! If you can beat my Losi then your car will be dialed. LOL

Ha! Sunday the 21st looks good for me pending we don't have a snow covered track.

I've been trying to get a "Vorza Meet" setup for some of the owners in Northern NJ.

Yep this thread is great for questions & answers & was a big influence in making my decision to get a vorza, just cant wait to get it up and running....
Castle Creations also has a portable programer for 30 bucks for in the field programing. I have one and it's nice to have on hand.

Click here for a video of the HPI D-Box Drift Assist in action

I know they show this for street / carpet racers but do you think it would work rounding out the turns on dirt tracks? They have it listed as an option part under the Vorza site.
I know people who run it in their baja 5b/t.It works. It is also illegal on tracks.Basicly if you didnt know your dbox plugs into the steering channel and your steering servo plugs into the dbox. When the back of your vehicle slides either right or left the box counters the steering for you so you cant spin out.You can set the dbox for sensitivity. There are you tube videos on it.Me personally can think of better things to spend 100 dollars on.It would however fit inside the vorzas radio box with my futaba 2.4ghz receiver so who would know you have it.

It might make bashing more fun. You could always take it off for races. I don't know....

First, I want to say that this is the best thread I have ever seen. Great information sharing and focus. I recieved my Vorza on the 6th, but haven't been able to even open the box till tonight (work preventing).

I have only a couple of current questions: (1) Is the quote below still the best initial setup (for medium size, technical track); (2) what is everyone using for the initial gearing (running 2 x 2s)?; (3) which is the best fit for the replacing of the hinge pins (front and rear)? the Hotbodies 66800 identified eariler in this thread? and are they to be used in both the front and rear?

Again, I want to thank everyone posting to this thread and will post any/all of my findings/results Sunday (if we race down here in Georgia).

Thanks

SHOCK DROOP: Front 98mm / Rear 100mm
SHOCK OIL: Front 35wt / Rear 45wt

Has anyone experimented with heavier shock oil weights?
Specifically in the rear to prevent bottoming out?
The longer rear yellow 68mm springs should help but it seems we may need to go heavier than 45wt.

I wanted to see what that HPI Drift Assist BOX was worth "on the streets", but €120 ($160) is a little to much to waste - if I didn't like it.

Well, turns out that that HPI Box is a re-branded Futaba G190 Micro Piezo Gyro G-190. And they sell for about €38 ($52) on Ebay.

Works really well in my Sprint, haven't tried it in my Savage or Vorza yet.

Maybe this will work for 13.99 then , they say in the reviews by users that it is similar to some of the futabas http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=10113

Stocker the HPI hinge pins do work but they arent the best fit. They are alittle long so you will have to come up with some kind of washers or something to make them fit better. M2C racing makes I think a really nice set of 4 I belive for the D8 which work, I think they cost $10. They use tool steel which is awesome quality material, and Mugen the ones for the MBX5 and 6 buggy also fit. They both fit perfectly and are much better quality then the HPI ones but I have some of all of them they all do the job but the 2 others are better and will last lots longer before needing replaced.

That set up you posted from Hyde16 is a great start. You can fine tune from there. You may find heavier oil and springs in the rear help prevent chassis "slapping", but weather conditions will vary for all of us.
