Hi guys another newbie to the forum

Im currently very tempted to get a Vorza Flux & after spending the time to go through this post its given me confidence that I shouldnt have any regrets if I do.

Can I ask what run times you guys are getting and with what cells?

Thanks

I would stick with 4s, 5000mah gets you roughly 15-18 mins depending on what your doing and how your driving. This is whats mostly used for a 4s brick pack. There are some 5400 5100 and there are bigger ones also but if you go any higher than say 6500 your risking side to side balance going out of whack.

I'm risking the side to side balance....
I have a 6500, it is a heavy battery.
Check the weight specs on every battery your considering and see if it's marginal.

Thanks for all the info on the ESC.

I'm off work tomorrow (Friday) and will head to the LHS and pick up the CC ESC.

I doubt that HPI or CC will fix my ESC under warranty as it was my fault for getting it wet. I will give them a call and see if they can fix it and at what cost, but I'll still go get the CC ESC tomorrow.

Has anyone tried to make there ESC waterproof or water resistant? (love that about the RTR Traxxas) Maybe remove the plastic housing and dip the circuit board in to a clear coat paint or epoxy, allow to dry and reassemble.

As for the user name Kodiak AK. yes I use to live there. 6 years. I love the outdoors and can't wait to go back to Alaska. I live in North Carolina now. I was born hear (NC) and came back so my kids could be near there extended family. Grandparents, Aunt, uncle and cousins.

I run 4S 5400mah 25C Venom. They last 18-20 min pushing hard and 30-35 min 50-60% throttle.
Jumps and flies straight.

Cool

Well got my car, just waiting on my 6s battery and pinion/spur to show up. Then I'm ready to run. Tested it on the 2s, pretty quick !. 4s should be perfect for the track.

Some pics of it after I opened it up -

Just because it's not made for RC cars does not mean you can't use it. Even a walmart in the craft section has straps you can make work. Velcro can be bought anywhere.

It's a beautiful piece of work once it comes out of the box.
I almost wish it was just an on-road car so it would stay that clean.
I can't wait to see your pictures after a few runs in the grass / dirt.

The first few times I broke out the q-tips to feverishly get it back to that new car look.

There is a video by proline tires on youtube that shows you how to waterproof the CC esc.. pm if you try it and let me know how it goes.. As for the esc warranty they probably will warranty it if its within 90 days of purchase but you just cant wait can you? lol going to buy a new one anyway.. Dont feel bad i did the same thing

Why do most people prefer 4s, are the 6s a bit too fast they make it difficult to drive?

Sorry for asking what might be obvious but I dont have much experience with electric cars & lipos, I used to run a nitro buggy many many years ago.

Thanks

It as simple as ROAR and other ruling bodies have decided to limit the batteries to 4S hard case.

If your track or club doesn't have this restriction and allow soft packs then you are better off using 5 or 6S packs with lower KV motors.

I have a ROAR approved 6S 6500mah 60C hard case battery.
6S is also ROAR approved.
