  • The first order of business is to trash that servo for something faster (I use a Futaba S9351).
  • Increase the pinion to a 17T for a bit more top end.
  • Get rid of the motor mount for an Elite RC mount.
  • Change the diff fluids (I run 5-7-3).
  • Increase the rear spring tension (Red spring) and increase the rear shock oil slightly, by 5 or 10k
  • And the most important thing... TIRES! I run AKA Cityblocks, AKA I-beams, or Proline Revolvers, depending on the track surface.

I've been murdering 8ight 2.0's, RC8Be's, Xray 808's, and Kyosho MP9e's on the track. Maybe I have it set up just right for my driving style, but it corners great, and flies great. It may be a bit heavier than an Xray or some others, but that doesn't seem to affect the performance at all. Everyone that has been skeptical at the track now feels dumb for spending as much or more for just a roller.

Ok so I put 60 weight oil in my rear is that going to be to much? Also what springs are yall running up front?

LOSI 8ight springs all aorund, the longer length is a must... i don't know what HPI was thinking with the springs they put on it.

i run 2x 3S packs, so i'm pretty heavy, i needed the greys (2nd hardest) and blacks in the front., stock oil and 1/4" preload on the front and 3/8" rear.

i've tried doazens of different etups, the Losi 8ight springs are a god send!

Is it the 3.1 losi springs?

The stock spring seems to work just fine in the front, as well as the 40wt oil. In the rear, I use the Red 68mm spring (#67452), with 50wt oil. Next time I rebuild them, I'll try 55wt.

I can understand using stiffer springs if you're running 6s, but the large majority of offroad racers run 4s.

it was springs out of the spring kit for the eight truggy., clear case with 7 sets.

"Rear Spring Set (7) 8B/8T" about $30-$40 depending on the store you buy from.

Default 2650 flux tork and 6s

for those of you who have wondered or contemplated running 6s and the optional 2650kv flux motor it is scary sick! i will tell you that unless you are soley going for speed and want to invest in some road tires it will not do you any good. this set up would be worthless for racing (unless you want to be first to the first jump and end up in the parking lot somewhere). temps are good all around as long as you run batteries with a high enough C rating and enough mah (5000). you will also need to run a fan on the motor, i use the castle wrap around one and motor temps have never gotten above 120F. also you NEED to make sure your speedo fan turns on at 130F or youre in trouble. i put an MIP temp gauge on the speedo to make sure it works.

i will also need to furnish some sort of wheelie bar. i put wheels on the back of the rear fin but the thing almost goes vertical before it hits them? anyone made a wheelie bar for the Vorza?

thanks

i would, but i have only had the Vorza about a month and i still havent found a location big enough to get it to top speed! I was going to run it at the local airport, but i think they have laws against people running rc cars on runways?? something about getting in the way of the planes...?? crazy people!!

There are instructions on Castle's download site for setting up Castle Link on 7/Vista. It basically requires running the installer/application as Administrator.

It doesn't matter. I bought the Castle branded link from my LHS, and it works
