Most sanctioned races use the 17.5 as the 27t equivalent. I don't know of any motors rated at 17.5 that are sensorless if you're going to use your Sidewinder.

The ONLY sensorless 17.5 i've seen...

http://www.nitrorcx.com/brushless-mo...ze--3650-.html

I picked up a combo with 60A ESC 5.5 motor and ordered one of the 13.5's to go with it... not a bad basher set up BUT I will say my Novak 13.5's are not only better quality they pull harder and are a touch faster... all though I have not run the 17.5 i would say you'd be at a disadvantage running it against Novak, tekin, speedpassion and so on motors in a race.

BTW the Ezrun .5 motors are TRUE 540 size motors and not 380's stuffed in a 540 size can... the two Ezruns i have run cool and strong and for the money are hard to beat for a basher... I'd be looking to buy something better if i wanted to WIN races

Pretty sure they aren't roar approved. I run a 13t ez run motor(blue finned can). It does run hot but its a great motor. I get about 130 degrees F after a race(not going easy on it). It does lose power as it get hot during the race but only in the bottom end. I'm planning on getting the 13.5 sensor less ones once they come in stock again.

you'll like the 13.5 much better than the 13T that IS a 380 size motor in a 540 can... the 13.5 will run cooler, faster and have more torque

Yea it gets the job done though surprisingly. I knew what i was walking into and wasn't expecting much but I was surprised! It'll be a good back up/second car motor. The esc I got with it though was stuck with the drag break set to full. I would let off the gas and just stop right away(imagine the throttle input I had to have off a jump). I got a sidewinder esc and it is a work horse. I love the reliability of castle and you hook it up with the castle link the thing is great! I highly recommend a sidewinder/MM with the sensorless motor from nitro rcx if you want sensorless racing.

fyi...it is known that sensor less is more powerful than sensored though it doesn't have the silky smoothyness to it.

Go to the Express Motorsports website and order a 17.5. It will run great with sensorless and sensored speed controls. Worst case, the Trinity Duo motors are the way to go and will work with sensored and sensorless speed controls.

Not so true.. some of the fastest guys in our area run brushed still... But you need to know how to tune and maintain them if you want to stay fast...

Combine new LiPos with brushed motors and you get some ponies!

On the other hand, brushless is consistently fast once you get the gearing right!
