Well guys, I pulled the trigger and just ordered one.

Question: I'm thinking of the Tekin 1900 with 4S packs. The track I race at has 15 minute mains and there will be more e8s this season. Would this be a good motor or should I go with the 2050?

How is the Promatch 4S 5000? Guess on run time?

I'm staying with Tekin since all my on-road/off-road/crawler is Tekin ESCs.

Thanks
Dave

My Ve8 is very new (only one race with it so far). I am running the CC 2200 motor on 4S/5000mAh and finish our 12 minute main (geared 50/16). We are fortunate enough to have a E-Buggy class. I can easily hang with the Nitros for speed, but they run 20 minute mains and I can't go that long on one battery.
Well Nitro A Mains are 20 mins.

IMO, the stock plastic horns on the Hot Bodies sucks. This past weekend I stripped the stock horn on both the D8 and D8T. Personally, I am not against plastic horns. It's just that the D8 ones seem to have soft plastic. I changed to a Hitec plastic horn and had no further issues.

right now on my Ve8 I have the ol Hitec alum horn bent up then straight so the linkage fits under like the stocker. I backordered the alum 1 and it just came in I just have to go get it. Bending 1 will work fine till they come back in though. The Promatch 5100 with a Tekin 1900 I bet you could get 20 mins out of. I am getting the promatch if I dont pull the trigger on my seconed esc motor set up being 6s. I am running the MMM/2200 19t pinion Hyperion 25C 4S 5000 and like it. I want to see whats up with the 40C though, and price wise the Promatch is the way to go.

I'm running a Tekin 1900kv in my Ve8 on 4s and I love it. Our mains are usually 15 min. and I can make it with a 40c 5000 pack geared 18/50.

Yes the 2200 does fit but you have to cut the rotor.

a buddy of my mine just showed me a interesting long runtime set up on his rc8 today. he is running a neu 1512 1.5D (3300kv) on 7.4v with 2 thunderpower 2s 5000 40c wired in parallel(10,000mah). the car was a little underpowered on the straight away but he could hang with the 4s cars everywhere else on our tight indoor track. I clocked it at 27 minutes of hard all out driving the car came off the track with ESC at 140F and the motor at 110F.

That 1512 1.5d motor is a BEAST powerwise and a serious amp hog. He better have some damn good batteries. I raced two summers ago with that motor for awhile and it was one of the best I had performance wise - always ran very cool. Works very well on 3s. 4s it was nearly uncontrollable.
