Default We lost another ESC...

Fellas, which ESC is best for 1/8 scale... Today I lost my second fan and my Losi took a crap. The blue and yellow light come on but when I hit the throttle nothing happens and there is no indication on the ESC that it is even trying to work...

I ran it with Tekin 2000 truggy motor on my Jammin CR X1 pro buggy. The temps were 150 on the motor and 130 on the ESC, battery was at 100.
This is on a 15 tooth pinion.

Can we say annoying!

I have the Tekin on order now. I am doing so with reluctance since they are losing cooling fans left and right as well.

Will horizon repair this thing seeing it has only been run for one weekend and a single lap (if that) today... ?

I would call Horizon customer service on monday. Thay pretty good about fixen the junk. oops I mean stuff. But that Tekin you have on order will out perform it anyways. I would still get the Tekin and send the other one in and get fixed. Th en you can keep it for a spare or sell it to cover some ove the cost of the new Tekin.

A lot of people seem to be happy with the Mamba Monster Max ESC.

I have the MMM and I have been trying the EZ Run 150amp speedie.
The MMM is very good, but I am leaning toward the cheaper EZrun. It is very easy to program, as it comes with a card, and in my truggies it doesnt break a sweat, with a monstrous cooling fan that has NO issues what so ever.
Of course they're cheaper too, since they're made by Hobbywing, which as we know are considered a lower grade system, compared to the big names, but let me promise you, as a serious club racer the bigger boys need to watch out, because the 150 amp EZ run is a product they need to catch up to....
P.S. The speedie is available separately, and there are several reputable sellers on ebay, if your LHS cant get them....

I have an account with Hobbycity as well. However, I am trying to stick with systems we sell, since both Phil and I are are the ones who are running 1/8E and are supposed to be the good example sort...

I have seen both the Tekin and MMM systems out at the track and the fans on them have all failed.

From what I have seen, both systems have their good points as well as bad points. We run in a high heat environment and our jumps can be brutal if you aren't on your game.

I am looking for ya'lls input between the systems, and any fixes you have found to have better fans...
