Default Cheapest 1/8 buggy chassis to get started with brushless

Okay, I have had several RC's. including a 1/10 buggy(bandit) i have an e-revo, and i'd like to have an 1/8 buggy, but not at an arm and a leg. I currently have a spare brushless motor, so i was wondering what you guys think the cheapest GOOD NAME BRAND not some ebay ripoff 1/8 buggy chassis would be that is brushless ready or can be made brushless ready....

The Ultras are awesome bashing buggies. They're tough as nails and they're so basic they're easy to work on.

My buddy's had an Ultra since we were in highschool and he still bashes the heck out of it..Lol. It's been run over at least twice, ran into everything you can possibly think of, and it's still going!

They aren't race buggies and they aren't state-of-the-art, but they are ridiculously tough.

Caster sport package is a better option than the OFNA.

Very tough cars. I converted my friends car (one of the ultra series, not sure which one) and it works great! Definitely priced well for a first buggy.

Hyper 7 can be found just about any where for cheap. If your okay with used there a lot of Xray XB8 buggies out there, this is what im thinking of doing with my old XB8 and then getting the 808 to use as my nitro.

considering you have an e-revo and a bandit.....it's kind apparent you're more of a basher than a racer...and, i gotta say....that Ofna LX1-e is gonna be REALLY hard to beat for the money. My best friend is looking at getting one very soon....as he's more of a basher than a racer too. he still runs on the track with me occasionally...but he likes more robust rc's so that he can throw them off the big jumps and not worry as much if he cases a landing. He runs his nitro ofna at the local BMX track...and it's awesome to see it jump. I have a losi 8-e 2.0...and i'm too scared to do it I might even pick up an ofna for myself...and toss in some stupid crazy 6s setup just to have fun with!

If you want REALLY cheap you could always go with one of these:

Redcat Racing Backdraft 8E, which includes everything - motor/ESC, LiPo batteries, trickle charger, radio. The people who have them on other forums (just google it) seem to like them.

I would recommend waiting for the Kyosho Inferno VE, though. It's a little more money, but it looks really nice, especially for a brushless RTR. It includes a Team Orion motor/ESC combo, and some cheap radio. Just needs batteries! Apparently it comes out the middle of next month. It's also based on a much more well known vehicle, so parts should be somewhat easier to come by.

I tend to be more of a basher. But im gonna try to get into racing some. The local track charges 5 bucks for race events. So i figure what the heck. I'm not looking for dirt cheap, just something that will be durable(cuz i always hear how awesome these things are and how far they can jump.....might test that)and be easy to find parts for. I'm looking at the ofna ultimate....anyone have any experience with the caster racing buggy? I don't understand why it has two battery compartments where most 1/8's only have one....also dont like the fact that the caster racing differentials only have two spider gears....anyone run them hard and broken a diff? i wasnt really looking at RTR's, b/c i have a tx/rx and servo and a 2800kv brushless motor...so i was gonna get a roller just to keep the price down.

The caster has two battery compartments so that you run two 2S packs in series, and balance the weight from side to side. It's questionable how much of a difference this really makes...but there are a couple of companies using that layout.
