Thanks!
he wants $150. he says the Lipo's are basically new and he feels just the lipos are worth close to that...
so for the truck (the whole stock rtr kit) and the lipos, would that be a decent deal?

Jammin scrt10 never came with a brushed motor.

ESC/MOTOR COMBO ADVICE?

Old thread resurrection. Need some advice for a esc/motor combo in my Jammin SCRT. First of all i'm going to mostly be bashing this truck so i want a waterproof combo also. My truck already has a Tenshock 401 4600kv motor in it and everything I read sounds like this motor is an absolute beast on just a 2cell lipo. Im thinking two different combo's so here we go.
1. HobbyWing 120a waterproof esc with programmer and 60c 2cell lipo's but sounds like the Tenshock motor runs on the hotter side and is know to eat iffy lipo's so for bashing is it a good combo?
2. Mamba Max Pro system but what KV should I get? Thinking about running this on a 3cell lipo.
Finally i know the Mamba system would be twice the price but even though it is a uncensored system it is a censored esc. Guess the HW pro is censored but is it waterproof and with one of these i would be over halfway to the price of the entire Castle system?

HOBBYWING 120A waterproff esc + 3656 4000KV combo, this suit 2S or 3S bashing.

IVe seen this guy drive!

I would recommend 1s and 17t 4 pole. I've seen this guy drive and it's scary. Stay clean all.;)

"Need some advice for a esc/motor combo in my Jammin SCRT"

I'm running a v heavy basher HW150a esc (WP'd by myself) and a huge leopard 4082 4 pole 2000kv on 4S
but at least I can bash all day and temps are ok (well all day until something breaks ;) )

tried 4600kv on 2s and 3400kv on 3s but both get too hot too quickly (I run 3400kv on 3s in my savage xs it's the best i can do....)

running the standard 13t pinion most of the time

wish I could get this power and motor temps with less weight, maybe a shorter can 2000kv but I love the punch from the long can - yep it is heavy tho'

^From my researches and humble opinion, best motors for 3S in SCRT10 (or any SCT 1/10) are :

. Tekin Pro4 HD 4-Pole 2500kv 35x62mm 221g #TEKTT2521 135$+
. Leopard #LBPS3858 2200KV or 2900KV 4 pole sensored 235g / 100$ (new and stocks are low)
. Castle Creations/Neu 1415 4 pole sensored 2400KV 301g / 100$+
. For SCRT-10/Nexx 10SC/Losi Ten SCTE only , (Any) 1/8 motor sensored in in the 2200 ~ 2650kv that have the less weight would be acceptable 350g+ / 50$+

For budget:

. LEOPARD LBA3660/10T 2450KV 2-pole 280g non-sensored 46$ +sh @ rcecho.com

What do you think ?

MaximeRoy77 06-25-2014 06:02 AM

I am looking to buy a SCRT-10 / Nexx 10SC but I wonder if parts support is lacking now that they are "discontinued" ?

There is also good deals on Hyper 10SC , is this one have better parts support ?

*Please note that I will be buying parts online anyway.

Am I right ?

[Too late, I bought both used for 75$ each ;-)]

Is anybody still into the Jammin scrt10? I have a really good condition roller that I want to sell and was wondering if there is any interest, it has some upgraded carbon fiber parts and I upgraded the steering links to heavier duty traxxas links, truck was not used much and just sits.

if anybody is interested please send me a PM and I can get you pics of it, its in really good condition and not all beat up or bashed, it was only used on occasion on indoor clay.

My friend has a clean one he is selling as a roller look for it on sf Bay area Craigslist for pics

It's been a LONG time and parts have pretty much dried up for these but I picked one up pretty much RTR for $180 on ebay(couldn't resist).

Anyone still have one?

Looks like the only parts available are for the Redcat sct10e which is the same truck but sold by Redcat vs Ofna.
I've been out of the hobby and probably should have bought a Tekno but back in the day the SCRT10 was a beast.. Should have checked on parts before buying one since at this point it's basically vintage.

I still have its cousin , the Hyper 10sc.

Has all the upgrades including the scrt10 steering bellcrank which is broken and was Never able to find another set...

Very good Truck all arround

I think I figured out a way to fit the SCTE belcrank setup on it (but I'm doing it for the equivalent CRT.5).

Does anyone know if the Redcat TRSC10 battery tray will fit in the SCRT-10?

For anyone who doesn't know the TRSC10 is a SCRT10 with some modifications.

I have both cars and I can tell you that the Redcat tray is not a bolt-on to the SCRT10.

At a minimum you would need to drill AND COUNTERSINK a number of holes to mount the Redcat tray on the SCRT10. They have no battery tray holes in common. A major issue is that the Redcat chassis is wider at the rear than the SCRT10 and a screw that goes through a flat part of the chassis into the Redcat tray at the rear will end up going through the SCRT10 chassis in the area where it is bent up at the side and the stone guard screws to the chassis. So you'd need to remove part of the SCRT10 stone guard and in addition modify the Redcat tray to account for the outer bend in the SCRT10 chassis.

I think the Redcat chassis and tray is a much better design than the SCRT10. That's probably because it came afterward and they learned from the SCRT10. I sold an SCRT10 and replaced it with a Redcat.
