Heard on ofna talk yesterday that Nitro House will have more HV 4.5's coming. The 4.5 is really the best fit for the truck on 2s. 5.5 is OK but the 6.5 is too slow.

As for the springs and bumper, mine was from the first shipment and had blue springs. Bumper was not installed because there isn't room for it in the box. The front driveshaft was the long one.

I just tried to order a 4.5 HV, and my supplier told me they are discontinued. WTF?? I'm not sure if this is true, but the 4.5 has been hard to find!!

going to a small carpet offroad race track this weekend. going to try a Tekin 9.5 for this one. I'm geared at 11t on the pinion. I'll post how it works out.

There is two on ebay right ow but it is the whole ESC/motor combo. If you have the money to spare you could try to re sell the new ESC for some money back. I snagged a 4.5HV motor NIB off ebay a week ago for $70 shipped. Got pretty lucky. If you see one up email the seller early and offer high to buy it now.

from what i got out of the ofna live thing. novak is making more just for nitrohouse with the purpose to be used in 10th scale shortcourse trucks. and not to be used in 1/8 th scale on 4s, as this will kill the motor

WOW Just managed to snag the last 4.5 HV available in my area!! What a scramble. I wonder why they would discontinue it , now that there is an excellent market emerging in the 10th scale 4x4SC class. That motor should never have been marketed towards 1/8th scale at all! Finally theres the perfect application for it, and they stop making it! I bet they are releasing something new to replace it.

If you guys really want to run the HV 4.5 style motors, there are others available, since it appears the Novaks are getting hard to find. Amain also has a Trinity model.....

+1 - it was never really suited for 1/8 scale and failed miserably. Works great with a capable ESC on 2S!

those motors have the small 3mm shaft, i like the novak hv series cuz it has the beefy 5mm shaft so u dont have to use the stupid adapter to run the Mod 1 pinions that came with the truck the grub screw loosens up in the adapter if u dont loktite the poo out of it and let it dry good

You can get Mod 1 pinions that fit 3mm shafts, so that is not really an issue, but I agree about that adapter, it's not my first choice, but works in a pinch.
