To anyone using the Novak HV 4.5 in there jammin, from what I read it sounds like you are using 13-15T pinions with the 46T spur. Is this with the stock jammin wheels (small size) or with the Slash wheels?

I'm using Slash wheels with my HV 4.5 and I'm currently using the stock 13t pinion. I run on a pretty small tight twisty indoor track, and I think a 13t pinion is a bit too small. Even on a small straight away it seems to top out too quick, and it has a bit too much punch down low for the tight turns. After a 5 minute qualifier my motor comes off at 95 degrees. I'm going to try a 14t pinion next.

I was using a Novak Velociti 5.5 540 can with the stock 13t pinion as well, and that motor seemed to work better with the 13t pinion. Its a shame because I bought Losi 11t and 12t Mod 1 5mm pinions to try with that Velociti motor to keep the temps down a bit, and now I switched to the Novak 4.5 HV. Anyone want to trade a 14t Mod 1 pinion for one of my 11t or 12t Mod 1 pinion gears?

14t pinion outdoor track with 140ft strait. Hotest I've seen the motor is 118 after 12 minutes.

well i broke my first parts yesterday. (well except for the bumper) hit a big quad on a new layout, and came down on the tube. broke the steering bellcrank, c hub, and hub carrier in one shot! it was one hell of a hit! i partly blame the stupid beadlocks i was running; to play w/ foams. switched out the beadlocks and no problems the rest of the night. and yes i wodded it up quite a few more times in the same spot before i learned the new layout. not bad for over 2 months of racing. the jammin is still one tough little truck!

On another topic, I have run as low as a 10t pinion on my Jammin.

As you may know we are R&Ding a new 550 motor for Fantom and with our current results it looks like a 6.5 with same gearing will out run an HV4.5!

We hope to have these soon and I will be running one at the Nitro Challenge for some real world race testing.
