1/8th buggy are 32 pitch gears, and both gears are also metal. This is 48 pitch from the looks....and the spur is plastic. 1 small rock and this thing is history.

I had to work on a co-workers kid Smartech buggy once. Same manufacturer this and Redcat most likely. The aluminum they use is extremely soft, and just stamped from a sheet.

There is a reason these are so cheap. Because they are cheaply made from cheap materials.
