AE SC10 RTR ISSUES

I have changed all connectors to Traxxas. Very easy to solder. Motor, ESC and battery connectors are all Traxxas.
So back to the Brushless thing, I am probably leaning toward the "Castle Creations Mamba Max 1/10th Scale Brushless Car Package (4600kV)
[CSEMMBMAX-CMS4600]".
But whats up with the 25C and 35C burst rates differences between these two packs? I know it has to do with max amperage out, but is 10+ more worth the extra 50 bucks per pack?
One is 70 bucks and 0ne is almost 120 bucks....Geeze
ProTek R/C 2S "Supreme Power" Li-Poly 25C Hard Case Battery Pack (7.4V/4900mAh)
[PTK-LPH-4900-2S25] Special: $69.99
and
ProTek R/C 2S "Supreme Power" Li-Poly 35C Hard Case Battery Pack (7.4V/5000mAh)
[PTK-LPH-5000-2S35] Price: $114.99
Also, what kinda gearing is optimal for running this motor and EsC in a SC10. Here is some video of me on the same track my son will be running the SC10. I am running a RC8T. It is sometimes dry and slick unless we water it down.

Traxxas plugs should be fine with anything you can throw at it. It's really a personal prefference between Deans and TRX plugs.
I have the Mamba Max and 5700KV motor combo in my SC10. It's really "too much" but I LOVE to have overhead. I use the CastleLink to tune it down on my laptop. It is a FaNtAsTiC ability. I run on a pavement track with it right now and it's great to be able to gun it whenever I want and it not spin out. I also have more top-end than the stock/brushed trucks in the straightaways. And with little-to-no maintainence it's better than a brushed there as well. I can turn the output back up when I want to go balls-out.
Are you familiar with C ratings and Lipo amperage? The "C" rating times the mAh is the amperage the battery can put out. I have 15c 4000 ProTeks that I use with my truck and they do fine. They barely get warm (106ish degrees max) and they have an acceptable ammount of power for my setup. I also have 15C TrueRC 6400s that I use. The 4000s are "60 amp" and the 6400s are "96 amp" I prefer the weight of the 6400s as they are twice the size of the others. I'm going to say that you wouldn't notice a difference in the output of the two batteries you mentioned, but if that is incorrect I am open to being corrected.
As far as gearing, I settled on 16/87. I found a gear calculator and put in the tire diameter and trans ratio and whatnot and it came to around a 17. I had a 16 in there so I figured I would leave it. After a 6 minute race I'm always in the mid 150s motor temp and 120s-130s esc temps. No fan on the ESC or motor. If I dink around a little after a race for a couple minutes it doesn't get much hotter, maybe into the 160s a couple times. I looked on the AE forums and found a bunch of different gearing combos that people were using. I also read about people using a 75 tooth spur and mid-20s pinions for their brushless motors in the SC10s. I've found that to be mostly for the 13.5 and 17.5 BL setups, not the Mamba combos. I sure wouldn't try it with mine because a 18/87 got it close to 180 after a 10+ minute practice session.
A guy I race with has a 17.5 in his SC10 and he runs 25/75 I believe. He likes it.

I am about 95% ready to click "Buy" on the MM 5700. I just need to know if the software really makes it very tunable. Not a lot of detail on its capabilities, just some screenshots on the CC page. I hope so. I was on the fence between the 4600 and the 5700.

So I was wondering. I have two NiMh 7 cell packs 3000&3300 mAh. I want to get a few Lipo packs. Is it a PITA to change the ESC from NiMh to LIPO and vice versa if I am running all of these packs?
Also, I imagine that the ECS and Motor on the CC MM 5700 can handle 7 cells if it can handle 3S LIPO right?
