Default What's the min amp for 1/10 Ep buggy?

Hi, I hv some dying maxamps 6000 n I was thinking to try zippy 2s 5000 25c but it's 200pcs back order.

I saw some turnigy packs 2s 5000 at 15c. Can I use those? I m running novak 6.5 with GTB.

How do I calcuate the amp draw from my 1:10 motor also? Thx guys

Check with the manufacturer for AMP draw, unless you know the wattage rating of the motor. For the battery, 15C x 5Ah = 75A continuous. For 10 scale that should be enough in most applications, but for a 6.5 it could be pushing the limit.

On second thought, for a 6.5 I think you want to go with a higher continuous rating, at least 100A.

from what I read on HobbyKing the turnigy's were miss labeled at the factory and are actually 20-25C...so they should be just as good as the Zippy's.
I guess I'll know when the one I bought for my Sc10 yesterday gets here

At the track, I've never seen a lipo NOT handle the job in a 1/10 car. Remember the original Orion packs? They were 15c and 20c... which was good back in the day. They worked just fine, even if they didn't have the same punch as newer better packs.

I have a novak gtb w/ the 5.5t ballistic (420 watts at 7.4v) so I use a more conservative equation with a lower voltage: 420w/6.4v=61.8amps. I use a smaller battery to keep the weight down. My 25c rated battery puts out 25c*3.3a=82.5amps. This is used i a 6.5lbs e-slayer and runs cool.
