why does my traxxs slash motor keep getting hot after im done driving it
ive chaneged the pinion and spur gear to fit the right need for it and ive meshed it right but everytime i get done the motor is hot and also its the stock motor that came on it

and 83 86 and 90 tooth spur gears
right now i got 23 pionion with 90 tooth spur gear which one is the best setup and why is the motor gettign hot after each run

i use 22 or 23 pinion and a 86 spur for racing. I have been on the track for over 10 minutes and its not too hot. I do not bash but it does depend on the surface you are running on. loose loamy dirt, grass, sand etc...
how long are you driving for and what surface?

3s lipo needs to be geared like 15/16t pinion with an 86 or 90t spur.
i have a 6400mah 3s on mine and had to keep gearing down and down.
but, as for grass...you run in grass and you WILL kill your titan. that puts way too much stress on a slash. if youwanna run in grass, at least get a pede

slash's are NOT made for the grass. if you gear WAY WAY down, then you'll keep from killing your motor too terribly fast, but it's still not ideal

The other option here is, keep running it just like you are, maybe not so long at one time, don't run the battery down quite so far, it's not good for lipo. If the motor is still working, so what, sometime you will kill that motor, then just get another one, they are fairly cheap. Your combo of gearing and where you run is what's making all the heat, but so what if it's working and nothing is melting or burning, have fun with it, that's what it's for! Maybe you could get a clip on haetsink for the motor of some kind....
