Default Setup - Pinion - Temperature (RC8)

Hello, everyone

Initially i had a Ezrun Combo 150A motor with 2350Kv motor (stock combo) ...

i used a 16T pinion with the 46T Spur with a 4S lipo ...

The car was very strong, but the temperatures were a little high. After a few settings timing 0 and 1 punch my engine is damaged ...

acquire a feigão 9XL to combine with the 150A ezrun esc ... Because of a 1900kv motor, had to raise the pinion to get more top speed ... But I have only pinon, 15 and 16T(yet), and Spur of 46 and 44T, I put the pinion 16T and 44T Spur and i achieve some increase in top speed ...

punch 4 and timing 5, i found a nearly full speed on a track similar to the Nitro ...

my question is if someone from here use this setup, esc + motor, and what pinion have in order to have acceptable temperatures?

What would be the pinion ideial for 4S and an engine 1900kv?

tanks, and sorry for my bad inglish

You should be around 18 or 19 pinion. I would try 18/46 and go from there... it will probably be plenty fast.

Keep the motor under 100*C for sure... 90* is getting very hot.

keep it below 70degrees. China motors burn up easily. I burn 2 already

Right... I don't think well in metric LOL I just checked a conversion calc, and I would change my post to 90 max and 75 as a warning to watch it very close. Once you get over about 170F/75C, you never know if that's where it's going to max out or if it's about to have runaway temps.

The Feigao motors do run hot and I've seen them in the 180/80C range without a problem... even though it's not ideal. If you can keep it around 60-70C, be very happy with that.

For the Tekin 2050 motor on 4S I run a 16 pinion with a 44 spur. It is a tiny bit on the slow side, but motor temps are around 150F (65C) after 15 minute mains.
