Default Will the VXL fit my old rustler?

My rustler is from ~2003. Will the vxl esc and motor fit without any modifications? Thanks in advance!

I would think so as mine is 15 years old and it fits. I would see if you have the metel trans gears though.

Default Traxxas site!

Here are a few links for you to peruse:

Rustler:
http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...ustler3705.htm

Rustler VXL:
http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...rx_rustler.htm

I don't know that they have changed the overall design such that the VXL system would not fit...be curious to see what the masses have to say.

yes you can, but you must need a metal tranny to handle the VXL power.

It will fit any car that uses a standard 540 motor.

I dont think you will have to upgrade the tranny as long as you took care of it. I ran a 10 cell pack and a 10x2 on my pede back in the day and it would out run my 1:8 scale Hyper 7 no problem.

So that is the metal gear people speak of? How hard would it be to install?
