Just bought a Mugen MBX5. If I convert this thing to brushless. If my thinking is correct. I dont need the brakes on the car anymore do i. Cause with brushless the braking is in the motor and ocmputer. Correct?

Correct.

No brakes, throttle servo or linkages.

I know Novak and Castle make them. I am sure there are others, but you will have to do that research. I know also that not everyone uses the motor braking for 1/8th scale buggies. You cannot get the front/rear bias like with separate mechanical brakes. This is a big plus of servo powered brakes and people are finding ways to mix the two together. BUt just to get up and running you will not need the stock mechanical brakes.
