Default What are the pros using?

Lets take the cactus classic for example or any other big race. I tried to find what classes there were but I couldnt. Does ryan mayfield or caveleiri do they use brushless and lipo batteries or are they required to use nimh?

or is there basically a class for everything?

What about in just normal club races?

Maifield runs LRP Brushless and Reedy batteries.

Pretty sure Cav runs Orion Brushless and Orion LiPo.

No stock classes are 17.5 or 27t
roar super stock is 13.5 and arguably 19t (some like to say a good 19t will equal a 10.5)
mod is anything else lower turn
and then 21.5 lipo can be vta but thats onroad.

in normal club races everybody is going lipo and brushless if they havent already. it can be a must. i hated brushed.

cool thanks guys,

does anyone have a list of all the numbers of brushless out there and what they equal in terms of brushed just so I have an idea. That would be really helpful

spec classes are:
17.5=stock 27 turn
13.5=19 turn

For mod, these are approximate:
9.5=14 turn
8.5=12 turn
7.5=10-11 turn
6.5=9 turn
5.5=7 turn
4.5=5 turn
3.5 or less...screw brushed, their toast

Come to think of it - we don't get to see pics of Maifield, Cav's or Tebo's cars with the bodies off lately.

Maybe I just missed it, I know the European drivers (Cragg, Martin, etc.) we can see their cars with bodies off via Oople. Don't recall seeming any pics since the Worlds in Japan of any of the US drivers.

Correction - I seem to remember a picture of Maifield's car at a JConcepts race with a Reedy Lipo in it. But even that is a year old or more.

Maifield won the Cactus with Reedy #709 pack, LRP sphere comp speedo, and LRP x-12 7.5 truck, 8.5 buggy motors.

Everything he runs is the same that you can buy....he's got mad skills.
