It's ok though, the value of the originals should not be affected
I think it will. I collect Tamiya cars too and have seen values drop when they re-pop a kit. Frogs and Hornets Hotshots are worth squat now. The big thing with the Tyrell was body damage and good front tires so when they re-poped that their values went down.
Don't get me wrong, most of my collection cars are runners (who wants to look at stuff on a shelf) so I like that I can run my stuff with a little less fear. I just think the value of the 1st run cars will drop a bit. What's going to stay golden are the NIB kits.

I will be holding out for one of the sand scorchers! There is just something about the beetle shells that look good on rc cars. Tamiya has made alot of the re res I wanted to see, really the main other ones I want to see are the supershot, and the blackfoot or monster beetle. I am really surprised we haven't seen one of the last two yet, especially since the frog and brat have already been done and share the same chassis.

but these SRB guys still must be crappin a brick sideways. they're real finicky bout their value. but then again our friends across the pond run the piss outta them and prolly would like a new example to do that with and preserve their original.

i found that if u didnt have the car as a kid, it just doesnt mean the same. i've owned the cars i 'wanted' and lusted after when i was young lookin at all the mags and tower catalogs. but just wasnt the same. just another car sittin on the shelf that didnt do anything. now the blackfoot and the orig rc10s. well thats different... b/c i had them.

but then again, who wouldnt love the fun a hornet could bring? honestly.

Tamiya has released a life battery pack,

http://www.tamiya.com/english/produc...1100/index.htm

It is only 1100 mah, so I don't see it lasting too long even with the silver can motors, but I haven't heard of anyone really running a motor hotter than the black can sport tuned or whatever on these.
Also you could make, or have a company make a hump pack, basiclaly just like the old ones tamiya came out with back in the day, five in a row, with one cell on top.

I run a MaxAmps 35c 4200 Lipo in my Grasshopper powered by a Novak 17.5. It is just as much fun as it was in 1983!!

I built a 5 cell side by side nimh with one cell up so really 4+1 hump thats fits really nice I bought one and built it and another for the closet shelf. I have a novax gtx in it.
I will get the sand scorcher if they re-re it for sure That was my first rc so it has a special place.
I am going to make a video of it running so I will post it up soon
