Default Best 19 Turn motor ?

I am thinking of buying another 19T motor if I can't work out the issues with my Peak dynasty motor.

Anyway, can anyone rate the new Associated / Reedy Quad mag motor? I don't like the Chameleon motors, had 5 and they were all garbage.

I run stadium truck on carpet ( offroad style ) if that helps. I basically need a motor with great torque.

if you're looking for torque, i'd say the new reedy 19T is your best bet, i have 1 on my xxx G+ and had to gear 3 teeth up from my regular 19T before. final drive is about 6.00

... but i had to true the comm first and change the stock brushes.

I've got a Lightspeed 19T, the company is from austin texas and they make great stuff. The motor is fasttttttt, but i think its a chamleon motor from trinity though, but it works. Maybe you got a bad batch at your hobby shop. I've heard things about the epic 19T, i havent heard of anyone tryting the reedy, but could be good i guess...

Thanks for all the info guys. Funny thing is that I had an older design chameleon that was actually pretty good compared to the chameleon 2s . But, after reading more of Big Jims motor guide I think I need to definitely look into seeing how my motor is currently set, get new brushes ( going back to the stocks instead of trinity 4499s ), and reset the springs.

The Dynasty motor is a good one, ran nice and hard all summer, I think I may have just messed the brush hood setting up or something. Plus the 4499s don't like comm drops.

What I didn't to find it is to type Big Jims Motor book in Google and it pulled it right up. Sorry don't have the full link, but I think it is just easier that way.

Really a definite to have, just doing the little he said and my motor feels very different ( better I believe, will see friday!)

My problem was that I was using comm drops on the 4499s, they don't like that. I am going to 767s. I am also going to run better springs all around, right now I have put on silvers and blacks. before it was the stock dynasty ones but I can tell they are toast. So far power feels good. No other motor springs in stock at my LHS though

no problem. From what I have been told its the ultimate source. Even has setups for stock motors. Only thing is he doesn't have it for 19T specs.

We tested the arcor motors and they were crappy compared to the standard chameleon style motors.

Trinity ones for some reason out of the box are not powerful. Unless you tune them ( ie- fix hood alignment , brushes, etc ), you are better off with a Yokomo can based motor. I made some changes to my dynasty for last race, it was EXTREMELY fast.

One thing, definitly running 767s instead of trinity 4499s, they were just too hard on the comm.

Brian just to correct you incase anyone is looking for him LightSpeed is in Arlington,Tx.
He as well as other motor tuners like Fantom,Kisbey,Putnam and many more make some very nice 19 turns.
In offroad or tighter onroad tracks I would say I like the Peak dynasty and the Orion element(Same Motor). The magnets last 10x's longer than ANYTHING by Epic or trinity or any company tuning these motor's.
The New Reedy Quad is also a nice motor.
If any of you guys need 766's or 767's email me.

My mistake, thanks for the correction. I have the 19T lightspeed motor and its pretty quick. I have a question, it has trinity purple springs, whcih are pretty stiff, should i back them off to the reds or greens?? Or with one red one green, and what brushes?
