Around here for indoor it was 1/10th truck. I think for outdoor it will mostly be truggy/buggy. Most of them are nitro though.

So for outdoor the most popular electric will be slash around here eventhough i will be racing a 1/8th electric buggy.

1/10th Stadium trucks are very attractive for beginners and Pros alike because they are so much more forgiving. I think that's why they're so much more popular then 2wd buggies.

For awhile though, 4wd 1/10th buggies were very popular at my local tracks, then when the Slashes came, it was the Slash. Nowadays, it seems like the 1/8th brushless are getting really popular....

I agree, If you want something that is fast and easy to drive (10th scale) get a truck. If you want something that will help your driving ability get a 2wd buggy.

In this area (SE PA, NJ) it seems to be 2wd Buggy is more popular than 2wd Truck. One local track does have a good showing of 2wd Truck but still more in the buggy class. No stock classes around here - only modified.

I still keep a 2wd buggy. I think the big class this year is 1/8 E - buggy.

At my local track the most popular classes are:

1. 2WD Open
2. 4WD Open
3. Slash
4. Stadium Truck
5. 2WD Stock

Stadium truck and the 2wd stock class are dieing. The ST class is dieing because of the Slash.

The stock class is dieing because our track is so tight that many people use a 17.5 anyways, and a faster motor doesn't mean you'll get faster laptimes unless you're a really good driver. Also, I think many people don't want to run stock because of ego issues.

The only electric track near me gets around 50 2wheelers in their 10.5 class and probly less then that in all the other classes combined. If you get people helpful fast people to a track then I think most people will join in with what ever they are running since they will be able to make anything look fast, fun, and easy.

At our local indoor track it's about a tie between 4wd mod and 13.5 truck. Slash seems to be dieing off.

To me, I think it is lame that the ST class would be dying because of the Slash. The Slash is a great beginner class and it is fun to drive, but I saw the Slash as a transition class to get people into the truck and buggy classes and racing in general.

I just hope that people don't switch from truck to Slash completely, that, to me, would be bad for this hobby and then I would have a different outlook on the Slash if it killed a good class.

At our track Slash's far outnumber 2WD trucks. So currently it would go in the following order.

Slash
2WD Truck
1/8 electric
CORR MOD

Brushless is slowly bringing people back to electric. The death of 1/10 scale trucks could come from more 1/8 electric; especially when the prices drop. We are fortunate at my track to have a 1/8 and 1/10 track so the popularity remains. At tracks which run 8 & 10 scales on the same track I can't imagine trying to get some practice in with a T4 with truggy's constantly running it over. I hope ST makes a comeback, Slash racing is fun, but there has to be a point when people want to challenge their driving.
