Have the JConcepts gold compound tires worked there, or is the pink Taper/BK setup still the only way to go?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't really care for the Gold Barcodes at LIR. Pink BKs and Tapers are still the ticket.

Hey fellas. I just got back into RC after a 10 yr hiatus. Bought a Tamiya TB01 rally and a Slash. The Slash has a couple aluminum bits (STRC shock towers, shock caps) after I broke the stock parts. Also I have a Velineon/VXL-3s system ready to go in. Is there a class that I could race my Slash in at LIR? I could always convert it back to stock and race in Spec Slash (would alu shock caps rule me out of Spec?) but I'd like to try the brushless system out.

I've never raced before so consider me a total n00b. I'd be coming out from lower Manhattan... quite a trip, esp. since I don't have a car, but judging from pics of LIR, it'd be worth it!

*edit* some pics of the TB01... don't think it would survive the course at LIR...

Jerry, you using the wide rear? If so, I can PM you what I have been running on the new layout.

We do not currently run a modified Slash class. I also have a feeling that the Brushless system in the Slash would be too much power for. Come down on a Friday night and run you Slash as it is in the Sportsman class. It is a class specifically for new drivers, that way you can get a feel for the track and racing. You can also come down on any practice day to try your truck on the track.

As far as running spec, I know Rob was allowing Traxxas aluminum upgrades. I don't see why aluminum caps would make you illegal. Just come on down and we'll find a place for you to run your truck.

Any other question, feel free to ask away.

Thanks for your help. I agree that BL may make the 2wd Slash hard to control. I'll leave the stock 12T in there and come out soon.

Glad to hear it. I think you'll love your Slash on the track. They are a lot of fun.
