Tire help????
Ok so i have a Rustler VXL and the stock tires as you all know SUCK! I cant accelerate for crap in the sand or dirt. I am on a budget since i just got the truck last week along with hop ups. So i am looking for a good mounted rim and tire combo for the back. I don't really care what size rims they are but i would prefer something black chrome. Can anyone either recommend a good site to get them cheap or recommend a good combo for me? I mainly ride in Dirt and sand with a lil grass but i not enough to account for.. Thanks Guys!!

i would say get a meduim compound tire or a hard compound , if your running in sand grass dirt i would say get proline spike tires i forgot what there called
but i heard they work good in that .look on www.towerhobbies.com i would check out gs hobby though they have some good prices

RustlerDemon 04-10-2009 08:52 PM

Whats gs hobbies web site?

tc5 man 04-10-2009 08:54 PM

is www.gshobby.com there in arkansas and there shipping is cheaper then most to

Can i use 40 series?

tc5 man 04-10-2009 09:04 PM

you can but u have to buy the proline aparters for them to fit and when your tires are worn down u only can use 40 series rims its up to u though.
look at these on gs hobby losi 1/0 frount /rear smasher tires.
and these proline rear speed paw tires 2.2 size truck. both on gs hobby

I was looking for something mounted... I bought some tires and they didnt end up mounted.. well on the rim that is.. My hand has alot of tread though.. lol

tc5 man 04-10-2009 09:15 PM

oh i dint see any premounted in them just racing tires . did u ever glue tires all u do is get motor spray and clean the tire bead and the rim too and slip the tire over the rim and get a rubber band and put it around the bead and let in dry .

RustlerDemon 04-10-2009 09:17 PM

I never glued them before. But the guy from Hobby town said to mount the tire and then put a thick bead of glue all the way around it then press it in.. the tire ripped and stuck to my hands... and the foam got stuck to the rim.. It was an epic fail!!

tc5 man 04-10-2009 09:21 PM

yea i be honest with u most of them guys at hobbytown dont know what they are talking about trust me i know. put some glue around four sides of the tires not all the way round, and then but the rubber band on the side where u glued it at ,then do the same thing on the other side . dont use to much glue it messes uo the tire bead

RustlerDemon 04-10-2009 09:23 PM

Do you think the tire would still be ok with a lil rip on the side wall and a medium chink missing from the foam?

tc5 man 04-10-2009 09:26 PM

yea i will still be fine but all the sand grass or what ever will get in to the foam ,the chunk missing from the foam i will bounce a lot more over bumps
and might lean in the turns more i mean the tires sidewall

RustlerDemon 04-10-2009 09:30 PM

well since they rnt directional couldnt i put the missing chunk side on the inside and put some glue on the rip? would that work or no? or do you think i should just buy a new set?
