Default Install a 1/8 wing on B4?

hey guys

has anyone run a 1/8th wing on the B4? The wings seem much stronger and will provide more consistence down force since they don't bend.

The only thing is finding a wing that isn't too large.

The Team Ass. B44 wing is pretty stout, and prolly weighs less.

You should check out the OFNA CRT .5 wing,
It looks much more scale than an 1/8th wing and is much lighter.
The Acadamy 1/10th Svb2 4wd buggy also has a plastic wing.

The .5 wing will fit better than an 8th wing. You will break your wing mounts more often with the stiffer wing.

Also with the heavier wing the buggy will nose up in the air more easily when you jump.

Whoa, that's a big chunk of lead on the front bulkhead

batteries are so much lighter than lipo's that it would do backflips without it during a jump. The wing in my picture is by far the best wing for your B4 It is very similar in size to your B4 wing and is the same size as the XXX-CR wing.

Exactly my point for only using with light batteries. The future has already made NiMH batteries obsolete.

Get a 7" Jconcepts wing, you will find the downforce you want without the 8th scale wing.

works, but when you switch to LiFe and Lipo batteries you need weight in both the front and rear of the car

Notice velcro strap for my unique batteries that are light weight.

My XXX-CR turns better than a B4 as well mine has many mods

Life batteries that I use are twice as light at least on the scale
I don't use drag brakes, that would simulate weight as well Lipo's are dangerous and don't last near as long, yes, but I added weight on mine to not flip backwards in the air, I refuse to use drag brakes unless 1/8scale. I had to get my car back to the CG of the stock kit you see. it was either 7oz in the battery tray or 3oz on the nose, was a no brainer, It grips like a 4wd no lie

The CRT.5 wing is really tough, but quite a bit smaller than a 1/10 2wd wing. I'd go with a Hot Bodies Lightning 10 wing. It's sized btwn the crt.5 and 1/8 wings.

The ST-1 wing is almost the exact size as the stock wing just about.

Get the .5 wing, it's like 6.5 inches and its not to big for your b4. I seen some one use the .5 wing but the bad thing is you will probley break more wing mounts.

The wings that are supplied with the stock/OEM bodies are made from thin polycarb. They do tear easily.
JConcept makes much stronger (thicker) polycarb. that last a LOT longer.

The CRT .5 and other hard plastic wings put too much weight too high on the car. They also don't flex enough during a crash and there is more energy transfered to the wing mounts than they were ever designinged to handle.
