Default Novak Brushless 8.5 vs 10.5

I have been searching the net for hours. I need help. I am somewhat new to brushless. I have a old Stampede that I have upgraded to VXL Brushless. I really have no complaints about it at all. I will be receiving my AE SC-10 on Monday and look forward to building it this week. I have settled on a Havoc brushless combo for it. What I can not seem to find anywhere is.......

In the beginning I will be running on my homemade track and bashing. I hope to someday, but probably not anytime soon, race. Is the Havoc SS 8.5 allowed on tracks, generally speaking? Otherwise do I get the 8.5 sport for now and something different later, or go 10.5 SS now and keep it. The SS is no better than the sport for bashing, right? By the way, I run NiMH right now. The 8.5 Sport would be closer to the VXL than would the 10.5 SS, right? A lot of questions I know, but I would really appreciate any input as I would like to order something in time for my build. Thanks ALOT!

Call your local track and see what motor is allowed for the SC10 class.

It all depends on the class that you are going to run in.

If you going to run in a stock class you will need a stock motor, if you going to run in mod you can run any motor you want, usually.

If your bashing on a home made track, chances are your home made track is not as large as a track at the races. You may be better off with the 10.5 because it is still very fast and your batteries will last longer.

I'm pretty sure that if you get the havoc 8.5 set-up,later on you can just purchase another motor. At my local hobby store they sell the havoc in 8.5 and 13.5,17.5,and i think the 10.5 also.So for now if it were me go for the 8.5 till your ready to race and know what class you'll be running in.
